the Receivers or Collectors thereof in divers
schedules by them subscribed. You are hereby
to repair to the several persons chargeable with
any such debts, and to levy same by distress. And
forasmuch as divers tenants chargeable with rents,
services, herriots, reliefs and amerciaments within
the collection of bailiffs, reeves and other officers
have refused to pay same, to the decay of "his
Highness's" revenue and the great loss of said
accomptants who have desired the aid of the
King's servants to levy same you are hereby to
so assist all such officers by levying by distress or
arresting resisters and refusers and bring them
before me or deliver them to the sheriff to remain in
gaol without bail.

Report to the King from Treasurer Danby on the
petition of Capt. Alexander Mackenyie to be
refunded the 515l. 0s. 6d. which he paid for his
ransom as follows. I am ready to order payment
thereof as soon as I shall receive your Majesty's
direction therein.
Prefixing : (a) said Makennyie's petition to the King.
Has always faithfully served the King. In that unfortunate
engagement against the Moors in Barbary,
Sept. 19 last, had several wounds, his horse killed
under him and all those under his command slain,
was taken prisoner and so kept for several
months. Was carried 20 days' journey into the
country before the Emperor Muley Ismael, and
contracted with said Emperor for his ransom 400 guns
each seven spans long, to be delivered Aug. 15
next, for which the English merchants there are
his security, and the rest of the ransom referred
to Alcade Marino, Governor of Sallee. Notwithstanding
his agreement with the said Alcade for
1,000 pieces of eight, yet before he could obtain
his liberty he was forced to pay and secure to be
paid the sums as follows, besides the loss of his
horses and equipage in the said engagement, and
the charge of his voyage to London. Therefore
prays the King to give order for the said guns, and
for payment of 515l. 0s. 6d., and for compensation
for said equipage, etc.
