Award of Anthony Coope and Edmund Hesilwodd, esquires, arbitrators between John Byron, knight, and Nicholas Strelley, knight, and also between the said Nicholas Strelley and Richard Grenchill, servant to the said Sir John Byron. Sir Nicholas is to pay 53s. 4d. to Richard Grenehill in satisfaction for the 'hurts and mayme' to him given by Sir Nicholas and his servants at Nottingham. Sir John and Sir Nicholas arc to stay at each other's houses twice yearly during the next three years to 'hunt and passe the tyme togeder famylyerly, and to declare and open theyre myndes ayther to oder,' to avoid future variances, &c. 16 September, 29 Henry VIII. [Oxford.] C. 1518. Indenture by which John Sundy, Clarice his wife, and Thomas their son, agree to indemnify Master Thomas de Esthalle against all actions brought by Ralph Loveday, lord of Mongewell, with respect to the services, &c., due on account of a certain yearly rent issuing out of a tenement called 'la Grey hone' in Mongewell. The said Ralph had granted the said rent to John Sundy, and had afterwards assigned the said tenement to Master Thomas de Esthall, brother of Robert de Esthall the tenant, reserving the homage, &c., for a certain period. Doubts had arisen as to the services due from the said Master Thomas to the said John Sundy, such services being dependent upon the homage. The bond is to be void if the said John allows the said William, &c., to remain in peaceable possession of a piece of arable land which he has bought from the said John. Defeasance below. The bond is to be void upon conveyance of lands in the lordship of Stonythorp, to the yearly value of 10 marcs, by the said John Hoore to the use of Alice his wife for her life. English. Signed.

Agreement between John de Gouyz, son and heir of Henry do Gouyz, and Nicholas de Langelonde, by which the said John undertakes to appear before the King's Justices in Banc at Westminster in the quinzaine of Hilary, and there make acknowledgment of the right of the said Nicholas to lands, &c., in Brentemarreys, and to levy a fine in favour of the said Nicholas. And the said John enters into a bond for 40l. that he will carry out his said undertaking. And Ingram Berenger, the stakeholder of the said 40l., enters into a like bond with the said Nicholas. In the audit of the accounts of the said Master it appeared that the payments made by him between A.D. 1318 and A.D. 1320 had exceeded his receipts by 8l. 8s. 2d.
