PREFACE.

The present volume is the fourth instalment of a Catalogue of all the Ancient Deeds preserved in the Public Record Office. It deals with Nos. 6123-10426 of the A Series, consisting of cleeds of the Treasury of the Receipt of the Exchequer formerly preserved at West- minster.

Part of it has been prepared by Mr. J. M. Thompson, the remainder by Mr. A. Story Maskelyne of this Department, who has also prepared the Indexes.
