Chirograph, indented, being the memorandum of an agree- ment, Thursday after the feast of St. Leonard the Abbot, 25 Edward [I], between William son of Ralph de Oxburh and Thomas de Skerning and Agnes atte Halle his wife, viz. William granted the said Thomas and Agnes for life 2a. 1 rood arable in Little Frausham, to hold without con- tradiction on the part of William or of John his son and heir; the said William and John, his son and heir by Emma late his wife, to be discharged from all actions between the parties, whether in the king's courts or not, and particularly from three quarters of barley which they were bound to pay yearly during the life of the said Agnes, rendering in lieu thereof to the said Thomas and Agnes and her heirs 16d. by quarterly payments, with power to her to distrain on a piece of land lying between 'le Kerrs,' in 'Herviis aker,' in 'Potters Lund,' &c. Letters patent, dated 9 October, being a certificate under the seal of his office by the Official of the Archdeacon of Cornwall, that whereas Owen Lloide, Doctor of Laws, Vicar General of John, bishop of Exeter, in the bishop's absence (in remotis agente) had notified him that he had admitted and instituted Geoffrey Adam, chaplain, to the church of the parish of St. Wynwolaus of Landewynnek, vacant by the resignation of Master Walter Wille, last rector there, upon the presentation of John son and heir of William Reskemer, the true patron, and had ordered him to give the said Geoffrey real and corporal possession of the said church, as by letters patent of the said Owen under the seal of the Principal Official of the said bishop dated 3 October, 1477, in the 13th year of his episcopacy appeared; he had, on receipt of the said mandate, caused the said Geoffrey to be inducted into the said church, on 7 October, by John Rosy, rector of Grade, his commissary.
