January 1608

John Thackwray to the Earl of Salisbury.
[Before January 27, 1607–8]. He was committed by Salisbury and the Privy Council to the house of the Bailiff of Westminster, where he has been detained for ten weeks. He is a young man and has little means to provide against poverty in his old age, except what he can gain by hard work and constant employment in his youth. He therefore asks that in view of the time he has already lost, he be given his liberty.—Undated.
