To Rory (Norico, recte Rorico) Oconrich, Donatus Olennain and John Ocuilleain, canons of Tuam. Mandate (the pope having been informed by William Mackabrethim, priest, of the diocese of Killala (Aladen.), that Richard Odermady, perpetual vicar of the parish church of Clancubyan in the diocese of Tuam, being under sentence of excommunication by authority of the ordinary, and publicly proclaimed excommunicate, has celebrated masses in contempt of the Keys and taken part in other divine offices) if and after William accuses Richard before the above three, to summon Richard and others concerned, and if they find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove Richard, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 5 marks sterling, to William; notwithstanding that provision was lately made to him by authority of the ordinary of the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Adrugul in the diocese of Killala, value not exceeding 5 marks sterling, about which he is litigating in those parts, and that the pope has recently granted him provision of the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Slanpadrig in the diocese of Tuam, which is not more than a mile from that of Clancubyan, and whose value does not exceed 5 marks sterling. As soon as he obtains the said vicarage of Clancubyan he is, as he has offered, to resign that of Adrugul and to give up all right in [or to] that of Slanpadrig. Mandate (the pope having been informed by John Oluran, priest, of the diocese of Clogher, that John Okenean, perpetual vicar of the parish church of Theachdampnada in the said diocese, has openly kept a concubine and incurred perjury and, being under sentence of excommunication, and publicly proclaimed as such, has celebrated and taken part in masses and other divine offices, thereby incurring irregularity) if and after Oluran (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which he was so promoted) accuses Okenean before the above three, to summon Okenean and others concerned, and if they find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove Okenean, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 5 marks sterling, to Oluran.Vite etc. (Her. and M. (who was lately dispensed by papal authority on account of illegitimacy as the son of unmarried parents, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, who has studied in canon law for about five years both in a university and a non-university, (fn. 2) and is in about his twenty-third year), the rectory of the parish church of Letrachorayn in the said diocese, of the patronage of laymen and value not exceeding 8 marks sterling, void by the death of Odo Okennedy, provided that the said patrons consent; whether it be so void, or by the resignation of the said Odo or of Matthew Ykennedi, or be void in any other way. To the bishop of Oviedo (Oueten.), and Thomas Penwen and William Helfenston, canons of Glasgow. Mandate as below. The recent petition of Thomas Mador, priest, of the diocese of Glasgow, contained that the late Thomas Grenlaw, on account of an infirmity, resigned to Andrew bishop of Glasgow his perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Wyston in the said diocese, and that the said bishop admitted the resignation by his ordinary authority. The pope, therefore, having learned that the vicarage became and is void by the death from the said infirmity of the said Thomas Grenlaw within 20 days after the said resignation, hereby orders the above three to collate and assign it, value not exceeding 9l. sterling, to the said Thomas Mador.
