To the bishop of Oviedo (Oveten.), the treasurer of Ardfert and Donald Macgillapadrit (recte Macgillapadric), a canon of Limerick. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of William Osichayn, priest, of the diocese of Cloyne (Clonen.), contained that on the voidance of the canonically united parish churches of Casteltu[n]magnel and Moynmarach in the said diocese, which are of the patronage of laymen, because Cena Mackarrtaygh, having obtained them by canonical collation, held possession of them for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation, William Magnel, the patron, presented the said William Osichayn to the bishop of Cloyne (not here named), even after they had been so long void that by the Lateran statutes their collation had lapsed to the apostolic see, which bishop instituted him, under pretext of which presentation and institution he obtained them and still detains them. The said presentation and institution being therefore without force, and the said churches still void as above, the pope hereby rehabilitates the said William Osichayn, and orders the above three to collate and assign to him the said churches, value not exceeding 4 marks sterling, but before they proceed to execute these presents, he is to resign. Mandate to collate and assign to La[c]tinus Ocormik, priest, of the diocese of Cork, who has studied in canon and civil law for several years, and was lately dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Fanlobuys in the said diocese, value not exceeding 12 marks sterling, void by the death of John Honnrihyly (recte Homurhyly). To the abbot of Tracton (de Albotractu) in the diocese of Cork, and the dean and the treasurer of Cork. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of Reginald Imurhyle, clerk, of the diocese of Cork, bachelor in decrees, contained that after provision had been made to him, by authority of the ordinary, of the rectory of the parish church of Cursruhara in the said diocese, on its voidance by the death of Dermit Mecclkhy, and he had in virtue thereof obtained possession, he held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest, and without dispensation, and has detained it thenceforth for about nine years, as he still does. The rectory having become and being still void by the said nonpromotion, the pope hereby rehabilitates Reginald on account of any irregularity contracted by reason of the foregoing, and orders the above three to collate and assign to him, who has lectured (legit) on canon law for more than a year and a half in the university of Oxford, and who was lately dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of an unmarried nobleman and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the said rectory, the cure of which is wont to be exercised by a perpetual vicar, and the fruits etc. of which do not exceed a yearly value of 4 marks sterling. To the dean and the precentor of Leighlin, and Malachy Ocogli, a canon of the same. Mandate to collate and assign to Edmund Ociruhayn (or Ociruuayn), (fn. 3) priest, of the diocese of Ferns, who was lately dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the rectory of the parish church of Insula Mocalmoe (sic) in the diocese of Dublin, of the patronage of laymen and value not exceeding 20 marks sterling, so long void by the death of John Macdubaill that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although Terence Macdubayll, who is to be summoned and removed, has unduly detained it for about a year, and still detains it, without any canonical title. To the abbot of Rossglas alias de Rossvalle in the diocese of Kildare (Daren.), the dean of Kildare and Donald Machostelbud, a canon of the same. Mandate (the pope having been informed by Richard Ohaydalayn, clerk, of the diocese of Kildare, that Thady Omaenaych, rector of the parish church of Enachvormaych (or Enachwrmaych) alias Gessil in the [same] diocese, (fn. 4) an open and notorious fornicator, has dilapidated etc. and uselessly consumed the goods of the rectory and, although monished by authority of the ordinary under pain of excommunication and deprivation, has not worn, and still does not wear, the clerical habit and tonsure and, being under such sentence of excommunication, and openly proclaimed as such, has caused mass to be celebrated in a place laid under interdict both by a legate of the apostolic see and by the ordinary, in contempt of the said see, thereby contracting irregularity) if and after Richard (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which he was made a clerk) accuses Thady before the above three, to summon Thady and others concerned, and if they find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove Thady, and in that event to collate and assign the rectory, of the patronage of laymen and value not exceeding 24 marks sterling, to Richard.
