To the bishop of Derry (Deren.), (fn. 2) John Ocearbulan, a canon of Derry (Deren.) and the official of the same. Mandate as below. The recent petition of Solomon Ohegerthard, clerk, of Derry, contained that the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Dompnachkayde in the said diocese is void because Arthur Machauyl, having obtained it by collation made to him by authority of the ordinary, held possession for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation, although Roger Omarayn, priest, of the said diocese, under pretext of an expectative grace granted to him by Nicholas V, lately accepted it and got provision made to him of it, as being void by the said non-promotion, after Calixtus III's revocation of all expectative graces granted by the said Nicholas, and, under pretext of such acceptance and provision intruded himself and has detained possession for about a year, as he still does. The pope therefore orders the above three to collate and assign to Solomon (who was lately, after he had been made a clerk by authority of the ordinary, dispensed by papal authority, on account of illegitimacy as the son of an Augustinian canon in priest's orders and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all minor and holy orders and receive and retain a benefice even with cure) the said vicarage, value not exceeding 8 marks sterling, summoning and removing the said Roger. He is hereby dispensed to receive and retain the vicarage for life, and to resign it, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases, notwithstanding the said defect, etc. Vite etc. (O. and Ernestus. | O. Mandate to collate and assign to William de la Wedre (i.e. de Lawedre), rector of the parish church of Carmichaele in the diocese of Glasgow, M.A., of noble birth by both parents, the perpetual vicarage of Enerlethan in the said diocese, with cure and value not exceeding 55l. sterling, void by the death of Alexander Kersan; notwithstanding that he holds the said rectory of Carmich[ael]e, value not exceeding 9l. sterling, and that the pope recently granted him provision of a canonry of Glasgow and the prebend called de Glasgu primo.
