11 Kal. Feb.
(22 Jan.)
St. Peter's, Rome.
(f. 112r.)
To William Turnbul, clerk, of the diocese of Glasgow. Reservation, as below. His recent petition contained that, in virtue of letters expectative granted to him by Paul II, he accepted and got provision made to him of the parish church of Annande in the diocese of Glasgow, then void in a certain way [not expressed], and that after litigating about it for some time with Gilbert Maxwel and Robert Hawserti(n) [sic], clerks, of the said diocese, he has this day (the cause between him and the said Robert being pending before John, bishop of Calahorra (Calaguritan.), who holds the place of a papal auditor, and the cause between him and the said Gilbert being pending before Master John de Ceretanis, a papal chaplain and auditor), given up, for the sake of implementing a certain honest agreement between him and the said Gilbert, the said causes and all right in or to the said church. The pope, therefore, hereby reserves and assigns to him a yearly pension for life of 10l. of the money of Scotland, which does not exceed 4l. sterling, upon the fruits etc. of the said church (the value of which does not exceed 18l. sterling), to be paid to him by the said Gilbert (who has consented), if he win the said church, and by his successors, half at St. Peter's ad Vincula, and half on the Purification of St. Mary the Virgin, in the city of Glasgow; with the usual sanctions for non-payment.
