To Alexander Inglis, clerk, of the diocese of St. Andrews, doctor of decrees. Motu proprio collation and provision to him, who is master of the register of petitions signed by James, king of Scots, of the deanery of Dunkeld, a major elective dignity with cure, value 50l. sterling, to become void by the pope's intended promotion of William Scheues to a cathedral church, and by his consecration; with mandate hereby, also motu proprio, to Peter, cardinal priest of St. Sixtus's, the chancellor of Aberdeen and the archdeacon of Dunkeld to induct him, after receiving his oath of fealty according to the form enclosed. To the abbot of St. Broganus's, Mothel (de Motalia), in the diocese of Lismore. Mandate, as below. The pope lately ordered collation and provision to be made to Thomas de Burgo, an Augustinian canon, of the priory of St. Edmund, King and Martyr, Cashel, O.S.A., void in a certain way, the pope's letters stating that its value did not exceed 95 marks sterling. At the recent petition of Walter de Burgo, a canon of the said monastery, containing that the said value is more than 95 marks sterling, being as much as 130, wherefore the said letters are surreptitious and invalid, the pope hereby orders the above abbot to summon the said Thomas (whom Walter cannot safely meet in the city and diocese of Cashel), and if he find the value to be as stated, to declare the said letters and their consequences null and void, and in that event to collate and assign the said priory, which is conventual, elective and with cure, to Walter; notwithstanding that the pope has this day granted him in commendam the perpetual vicarage of Chahirlis in the diocese of Emly, value 12 marks sterling.
