To the dean of Leighlin and Patrick Obryn and Malachy Ochogle, canons of the same. Mandate to collate and assign to Thomas Omulmoy, clerk, of the diocese of Leighlin, who is illegitimate, being the son of a priest and an unmarried woman related in the second and third degrees of affinity, and who has been made a clerk by authority of the ordinary, the rectory of Kerlac in the said diocese, of lay patronage and value 8 marks sterling, so long void that there is no certain knowledge of the last way of its voidance, and that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although Donald Boy (Candidus) Ofrugna [sic], clerk, of the said diocese, has detained it for between twelve and thirteen years, without any title or right, the said Donald being summoned and removed. The pope hereby dispenses him to be promoted to all higher, (fn. 2) even holy orders and receive and retain the said rectory, notwithstanding the said defect, etc. Vite etc. (At the end: Jo. xx. To John Myrtone, a canon of Dunkeld. Mandate (the pope having been informed by Walter Drummond, clerk, of the diocese of Dublin [sic], that John Donald(i), chancellor of Dunkeld, has forged letters of the bishop of Dunkeld and appended a false seal thereto, and has made use of them, as also of many others which he has forged, thereby committing the crime of forgery), (fn. 3) if the said Walter, who is by both parents of noble birth, will accuse the said John before the above canon, to summon him, and if he find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said chancellorship, a non-major dignity, value 12l. sterling, to the said Walter. To Charles Offalluyn, a canon of Elphin. Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by Malachy Odonanalyn, a canon of the monastery of St. Mary, Clontuasgerta Omane, O.S.A., in the diocese of Clonfert, that The[o]bald de Burgo, prior of the monastery of St. Coman (sancti Cumani) alias St. Mary, Roscoman, of the said order, in the diocese of Elphin, does not reside therein but has his own private property, and allows the canons who dwell without to do the same, that he is a notorious fornicator, and has committed or aided and abetted murder. (fn. 4) The pope, therefore, hereby orders the above canon, if the said Malachy will accuse the said The[o]bald before him, to summon the latter, and if he find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said priory, conventual and with cure and non-elective, value 60 marks sterling, to the said Malachy, after receiving from him the usual oath of fealty according to the form enclosed. As soon as he has obtained possession in virtue of these presents, the said canon is to transfer him from the said monastery of St. Mary, Clontuasgerta Omane, of which he is a canon, professed of the said order, to that of St. Coman alias St. Mary etc. He is hereby dispensed to receive and retain the said priory, notwithstanding his defect of age, being in or about his twentieth year. To the archdeacon of Ossory. Mandate, as below. The priorship of the monastery of St. Kieran (sancti Chierani), Fertakeyra, O.S.A., in the diocese of Ossory, which is conventual, has become void and therefore reserved (under the pope's late reservation of all conventual priorships, void and to be void), by the deprivation, made by John, bishop of Ossory, collector of the papal Camera in Ireland, of William Oduygyn for non-payment of the amount due on account of the said priorship. The pope, therefore, hereby orders the above archdeacon to collate and assign the said priorship, elective and with cure, value 12 marks sterling, to Thomas Okall, a canon of the said monastery (who alleges that he has made his profession of the said order, and that the said William has continued to detain the said priorship for between one and two years, without having acquired any fresh title), after receiving from him the usual oath of fealty, according to the form enclosed, summoning and removing the said William.
