Mandate to sequestrate again the prebend and treasurership of Salisbury, which, on their voidance by the death of Walter W[y v]ill, were given to Galhardus, cardinal of St. Lucy's in Silice, but were seized by Thomas de Breydon, who was defended by Thomas Hothofth, rector of Pontragah in the same diocese, and his accomplices, citizens of Salisbury, by whom Master Bernard Viventis of Bazas, subexecutor, and John Bonawre, the cardinal's proctor, canons of Chichester, were attacked; and the sequestration of the said prebend and treasurership by John, late archbishop of Canterbury, was violated by Breydon.

Appointing him to that abbey, void by the death of Simon, on which the convent, in the presence of Robert, abbot of Welbeck, the father-abbot of the monastery of Torre, commissioned seven of the canons, namely, himself, John de Degh, or Gogh, John Bodeam, John Gras, George de Grimeston, John de Berkdon, and John de Stoucombe, to elect. John de Gogh, George de Grimeston, and John de Berkedon, chose Richard, who accepted. The said Robert refused to confirm the election of Richard, and appointed John de Gras, who disobeyed a papal citation, his proctor, Reginald Boggewille, conducting his case against Richard before Peter, cardinal of St. Susanna's; after which John died. Richard has received benediction from Bernard, bishop of Porto.

Mandate to provide to John de Helwell the canonry and prebend of Skelton in Howden, void by the resignation of Adam de Heselbech, who exchanged it with Ralph Turvill for a canonry and prebend of Norton, in the diocese of Durham, and whose benefices were reserved to the pope. A suit is in progress before Martin between John, who was presented by the archbishop of York on the death of Ralph, by virtue of a privilege granted him by the pope, and Henry de Rosse, who claims it as void on the death of Ralph, under a papal reservation. If nobody has a right to it, it is to be given to John.
