To the archbishop of Tuam, and the bishops of Clonfert and Kilmacduagh. Mandate to collate and assign to James Ohurayn, canon of Clonfert—who has had papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman related in the third and third degrees of affinity, to be promoted to all, even holy, orders and hold a benefice even with cure— the perpetual rectory of Dummor of lay patronage, value not exceeding 15 marks, in the diocese of Tuam, so long void—by reason that James Cachyr, holding the deanery of Tuam, a dignity, obtained and held, as he still does, the same therewith for more than a year, without dispensation—that by the Lateran statutes it has lapsed to the apostolic see; notwithstanding that the pope has recently made provision to Ohurayn of a canonry of Clonfert, with expectation of a prebend and dignity, even with cure, major and elective, which provision is, as far as regards such dignity only, upon his obtaining the rectory, to be null. Mandate to collate and assign to John Macbradaich, clerk, of the diocese of Kilmore, who is in his twenty-fourth year, and has been presented to the pope by the patron Donatus Macbradaich, donsel, of the same diocese, if found fit after the usual examination in Latin, the perpetual benefice with cure called the vicarage of Culbrydyn and Sendamair, which is not in any church, in the said diocese, value not exceeding 5 marks, void by the resignation of Cristin Mecbradaich; notwithstanding that the pope has this day ordered provision to be made to him anew of the perpetual benefice without cure called the rectory of the above, likewise in no church, value not exceeding 6 marks, which he has otherwise already obtained. To the bishop of Ardfert. Mandate to collate and assign to Gerald Fitz Morys, rector of Moynachyghacha in the diocese of Limerick, if found fit after the usual examination in Latin, the rectory, with cure, of Dungarwan in the diocese of Lismore, of king Richard's patronage, value not exceeding 60 marks, so long void— by reason that Ralph Beldysford held it for more than a year without being ordained priest and without dispensation—that by the Lateran statutes it has lapsed to the apostolic see; notwithstanding that Gerald holds the above rectory and, under letters of the pope, the canonries and prebends of Bellachacha in Cloyne and Effyn in Limerick, the value of all not exceeding 80 marks, and a canonry of Lismore with expectation of a prebend. He has hereby dispensation to hold Dungarwan together with Moynachyghacha for three years, within which term one of the two is to be exchanged for a benefice compatible with the other; otherwise Moynachyghacha is to be resigned. Mandate to collate and assign to John Ogaband, priest, of the said diocese, if found fit after the usual examination in Latin, the rectory of Cluanes, called a comorbanship (camarbania, sic) value not exceeding 35 marks, in the diocese of Clogher, so long void by the resignation of John Mocmegeanaich (sic), that it has lapsed to the apostolic see; although Tiarnacus Macmegeanaich, priest, unlawfully detains it, and notwithstanding that the pope has lately ordered provision to be made to Ogaband of the deanery of Armagh, value not exceeding 70 marks. Dispensation is hereby granted to hold the rectory together with the deanery, a major dignity with cure. Dignum arbitramur. |
