1422. 6 Kal. June. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 47d.)	To Thomas. Provision of the Cistercian abbey of Neubotil in the diocese of St. Andrews, to which on its voidance by the death of William, during whose life it had been specially reserved by the present pope, he, a monk thereof, in priest's orders, S.T.B., was elected by the convent (who were perhaps in ignorance of the said reservation), consented to the election, and had it confirmed by the commissaries specially deputed for the purpose by David, abbot of Melros in the diocese of Glasgow, father-abbot of Neubotil (to whom when there is no such reservation the confirmation of the election of the abbot of Neubotil belongs), namely William, abbot of Kynlosi in the diocese of Moray and John Fogo, monk of Melros, who were ignorant of the said reservation, under pretext of which null election and confirmation he has administered the abbey and has had himself blessed by Henry, bishop of St. Andrews, afterwards, on learning the said reservation, causing the matter of the election to be set forth before the pope in consistory. 1421. 15 Kal. Dec. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 84d.)	To Thomas [Polton], bishop of Chichester. Translation from Hereford to the above see, void by the pope's translation this day, in his absence, of John [Kempe] to London. Romani pontificis.
	Concurrent letters to the chapter, to the clergy and the people of the city and diocese, to the vassals of the church— Romani etc.; to the archbishop of Canterbury—Ad cumulum; and to king Henry—Gracie divine.
Ibid. (f. 85d.)	To Thomas [Spofford], elect of Hereford. Translation of him, elect of Rochester (of which see the pope recently made provision to him [above p. 192], and who is within the period defined by the canons for the consecration of bishops), to the see of Hereford, void by the pope's translation thence to Chichester, made this day, of bishop Thomas [Polton], who is at the apostolic see. Romani pontificis.
	Concurrent letters as in the preceding. [The date is anno 4, as in the preceding, i.e. Nov. 17, 1421, not 1422, as in Eubel, Hierarchia, under Hereforden.]
1422. 14 Kal Dec. S. Maria Maggiore. Rome. (f. 105d.)	To the bishop of Clonmacnoise. Mandate, if he find him fit, to make provision to Maurice alias John Micbruyn, Cistercian monk of St. Mary's, Newry (de Viridiligno), in the diocese of Dromore, formerly a Friar Preacher, the son of an abbot of the Cistercian order and an unmarried woman, the said monastery, value not exceeding 20 marks, void by the death of abbot John Oruonaga. The bishop is to bless him or cause him to be blessed by a catholic bishop, and the oath of fealty is to be sent to the pope, as usual. Maurice is hereby dispensed on account of his said defect. Solicite consideracionis.
