1427. 16 Kal. Dec. SS. Apostoli. Rome. (f. 25d.)	To the abbot of Lindores (de Lundoris) in the diocese of St. Andrews. Mandate, at the recent petition of William Broun, Benedictine monk of Dunfermlyn, S.T.B. (containing that although he formerly obtained, by collation made to him by papal authority, the Benedictine priory of Coldyngeham, after he had held it for some time William Drack, monk of Durham, falsely asserting that the said priory belonged to him, obtained the commission of his cause against Broun to a papal auditor and won a definitive sentence, whereby the said priory was adjudged to him, perpetual silence imposed on Broun, and Broun condemned in fruits received and in costs, which sentence became a res judicata; and adding that on account of the wars in those parts and the inhibition imposed on him by temporal lords to go to the Roman court, he was prevented from defending his cause) to summon Drack and others concerned, and if he find that the said hindrances were legitimate, to admit Broun to appeal from the said sentence, and in that event to hear both sides and decide what is canonical, without appeal. Dispensation, as the daughter of a priest and an Augustinian nun, to hold any dignities etc. wont to be held by nuns of the said monastery, even the dignity of abbess. 14 Kal. Sept. SS. Apostoli, Rome. (f. 84d.)	To the Benedictine abbot and convent of St. Peter's, Hyde, near Winchester. Confirmation of all liberties and immunities granted to them by popes, and of liberties and exemptions from secular exemptions granted to them by emperors, kings, princes and other faithful. Solicite consideracionis.

1427. 5 Kal. April. SS. Apostoli. Rome. (f. 124d.)	To William Clerc, a Carmelite friar, of the diocese of Exeter. Indult to him, who after the custom of his order has been deputed a lector in theology at Oxford, and is the son of a married nobleman and an unmarried woman, notwithstanding the said defect to hold in commendam during the pope's pleasure a benefice with or without cure in the gift of his brethren or kinsmen or any other laymen. Provision to him, Benedictine prior of St. Mary's, Soulac (de Solaco), in the diocese of Bordeaux, doctor of canon law, priest, of the said see, void by the translation thence, made this day by the pope, of Francis to Pavia. Apostolatus officium.

11 Kal. March. SS. Apostoli, Rome. (f. 208d.)	To Thomas, elect of Ossory. Provision to him, rector of Theversham in the diocese of Ely, I.U.B., priest, of the said see, void by the death of Denis, during whose life it was specially reserved by the pope. Apostolatus etc.

1426. 6 Kal. Dec. SS Apostoli, Rome. (f. 232.)	To Magonius Odrobelaydh, canon of Raphoe. Mandate as below. The pope has this day ordered him to cause Edmund Ogallchubair, clerk, of Raphoe, to be admitted as a monk of the Cistercian abbey of St. Mary the Virgin, Assaroe (de Sameria), in the diocese of Raphoe. He hereby further orders him, after the said Edmund (who is by both parents of noble birth, is in his twenty-third year, and lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a deacon and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure) has been so admitted and has made his profession, to make provision to him of the said abbey, the value of whose abbatial mensa does not exceed 16 marks, void by the death of Goffredus, during whose life it was specially reserved by the pope, summoning and removing Cormac Oculinnan, monk of the said abbey, who without canonical institution has unduly detained possession for about two years; whether it became void as stated, or by the death of Senus Miccemilthaych alias Thady (Titius) [see above, p. 192], or in any other way. Edmund has hereby dispensation to hold it, and faculty to be blessed by any catholic bishop, who shall thereafter receive and send his oath of fealty as usual. Ex suscepte seruitutis.
1427. 2 Id. Jan. SS. Apostoli, Rome. (f. 212.)	To the bishop of Kildare. Mandate to receive the proposed resignation of John, Cistercian abbot of St. Mary's, Monasterevin (de Rosea Valle), in the diocese of Kildare, and to make provision of the said abbey, which has been almost despoiled of all its goods, and whose value does not exceed 4 marks, to Fergallus Omallyan, monk thereof, who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be able to be elected abbot of the same. He has hereby dispensation and faculty as in the preceding. Solicite consideracionis.
7 Id. July. SS Apostoli, Rome. (f. 265)	To Robert, elect of Salisbury. Provision to him, provost of St. John's, Beverley, M.A., priest, of the said see, void by the death of John, during whose life it was specially reserved by the pope. Inter cetera. [See above, p. 32.]

4 Id. May. SS. Apostoli, Rome. (f. 295d.)	To John, Benedictine abbot of St. Augustine's without the walls of Canterbury, immediately belonging to the Roman church. (fn. 2) Provision of the said monastery to which, on its voidance by the death of Marcellus, during whose life it was specially reserved by the pope, the convent, perhaps in ignorance of the said reservation, elected him, a monk of the said monastery, in priest's orders, who, likewise ignorant, consented to the election, but afterwards caused the matter of the said election, which on account of the said reservation is null, to be set forth before the pope in consistory.
