1433. 11 Kal. Oct. St. Laurence's in Damaso, Rome. (f. 100.)	To the bishop of Dunkeld. Mandate (recapitulating the pope's letters [above, Reg. Lat. CCCXIX, f. 115] rehabilitating James Stewart, clerk, of the diocese of Aberdeen, and requiring him to resign the there-named three benefices, to wit, a canonry of Aberdeen with the prebend of the pensionaria of Ellone, a canonry of Moray with the prebend of Glenghuarne, and the hospital of Rethafane in the diocese of Aberdeen) to collate and assign to him, who is a kinsman of king James, after he has duly resigned, the said three benefices, the value of the said two canonries and prebends not exceeding 16l. sterling, and that of the said hospital likewise not exceeding 16l. sterling, so long void, respectively, by the death of John de Dunbreke, the death of Thomas Mathane, and the resignation of Walter Stewart, that the collation has lapsed to the apostolic see. He is hereby specially dispensed, on account of the said defect [of birth], to act as a clerk, be promoted to all the said orders, and hold the said three benefices. 7 Id. Sept. St. Laurence's in Damaso. Rome. (f. 105d.)	To the bishop and the treasurer and John Scheues, canon, of Aberdeen. Mandate—the pope having been informed by John Boumaker, rector of Munyabro in the diocese of Glasgow, I.U.B., that Thomas de Mirton, canon of Aberdeen, has committed perjury and has remained for several years under sentence of the greater excommunication without seeking to return to the unity of the church—if John will accuse Thomas before them, to summon Thomas and if they find the above to be true, to deprive Thomas, and in that event to collate and assign his canonry and prebend of Kynkel in Aberdeen, value not exceeding 80l. sterling, to John; notwithstanding that he holds the said church, that provision was lately made to him by papal authority of the perpetual vicarage of Hadyngton in the diocese of St. Andrews, value not exceeding 13l. and 30l. sterling respectively, and that he has been dispensed by the said authority to hold for five years the said church of Munyabro and one other benefice with cure or otherwise incompatible [see above, pp. 199, 200]. Mandate to collate and assign to Malachy M^cenamara, rector of Cluaynlayger of the half cantred of Obblayd in the diocese of Killaloe, who has studied canon and civil law for twelve years, and who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, nobles, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the canonry and prebend of Lochkyn in Killaloe, value not exceeding 10 marks, so long void by the death of Donatus Yeleydud that its collation lapsed to the apostolic see, summoning and removing Richard Ohedigayn, archdeacon of Cashel, who has unduly detained possession for more than eight years under pretext of a collation made by authority of the ordinary after the said lapse, and on account of whose power Malachy cannot safely meet him in the city or diocese of Killaloe; notwithstanding that provision was lately made to Malachy by papal authority of the said rectory, possession of which he has not got, value likewise not exceeding 10 marks [above, Reg. To William, abbot, and the convent of the Benedictine monastery of Bury St. Edmunds, in the diocese of Norwich, immediately belonging to the Roman church. Indult for the said abbot and his successors, and for each of the monks, present and future, to have a portable altar, on which the said abbot and his successors may, whensoever they are absent from the monastery, and on which the said monks may, when they are so absent with licence of the said abbot or his successors, celebrate and have celebrated by their own or other fit priests mass and other divine offices, in the presence of themselves and of any one of them, and of their servants.
