To the abbot of Macosquin (de Claro fonte), Derry, and the archdeacon and John Ofuyllechcan, canon, of Derry. Mandate to collate and assign to John Macolgan, priest, of the diocese of Derry—who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which, having been so promoted, he obtained the vicarage of Cluaynk in the said diocese, which he afterwards resigned—the rectory of Dompnacch Glennatacchayr in the said diocese, value not exceeding 6 marks, still void by the death of Nemeas Maccholgan, summoning and removing Donald Maccholgan, priest, of the said diocese, who has unduly detained possession for more than seven years without clearing himself of his simoniacal entry therein. To the chancellor of the church of Lismore (Lismiren.) in the diocese of Argyll. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Geoffrey [son] of Geoffrey (Gofredus Gofredi) Doncani, clerk, of the diocese of Argyll, that Ivor (Yvarus) Colini, perpetual vicar of St. Ferchanus's in Cnabadul, in the said diocese, has dilapidated the said vicarage, and, publicly keeping a concubine and therefore under sentence of excommunication, has celebrated mass etc., in contempt of the keys, incurring irregularity—if Geoffrey, who is in his twenty-fourth year, will accuse Ivor before him, to summon Ivor, and if he find the above or enough thereof to be true, to deprive Ivor, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 7l. sterling, to Geoffrey, whether it become void thus, or be void by the free resignation of the said Ivor, or in any other way. To the prior of Orwansay in the diocese of Sodor. Mandate as below. The pope has learned that the perpetual vicarage of St. Comanus's in Ile, in the diocese of Sodor, became void by the death of Murcardus Macgillacommeyg, although Donald [son] of Morice [Moricii] Macinnirlegyn, priest, of the said diocese, obtained it, thus void and collated to him by papal authority, after he had become excommunicate by striking, to the point of bloodshed, John Martini, clerk, of the diocese of Argyll, and has unduly detained possession for more than six years. He therefore orders the above prior, if John Patricii, priest, of the diocese of Sodor (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest etc. as above, f. 36) will accuse Donald before him, to summon Donald, and if he find the above to be true, to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 15 marks sterling, to the said John. Mandate—the pope having been informed by John [son] of Dougal (Johannes Dugalli) Macmaelmichell, clerk, of the diocese of Argyll, that John Finlaii, perpetual vicar of Kilcalmonell (Sancti Colmancli) in the said diocese, has publicly kept for several years as a concubine a certain woman, by whom he has had offspring still alive (prolem gradientem super terram), and has dilapidated the goods of the said church, etc.—if the said John will accuse Finlaii before him, to summon Finlaii, and if he find the above or enough thereof to be true, to deprive Finlaii, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 10 marks sterling, to John.Vite etc. (An. and Pizolpassus. | An. xx. Mandate, at the recent petition of Mulerus Baret Macgillacroyn, perpetual vicar of Kylbelada in the diocese of Killala—containing that, on the voidance of the rectory of the rural lands of Bredah alias of the parish church of Kylhigayn in the said diocese, by the death of Emundus Baret, the patron Robert Dundonall, nobleman, presented within the lawful time the said Mulerus to bishop Bernard, who refused to institute him; and adding that he doubts for certain reasons whether the said presentation holds good—to collate and assign to the said Mulerus, a priest, the said rectory, value not exceeding 10 marks. Mandate, at the petition of Dougal [son] of Dougal (Dugaldus Dugaldi) Macmaelmicheil, priest, of the diocese of Argyll—containing that, on the voidance of the rectory of St. Michael's in Kyntire, in the said diocese, of the patronage of laymen, by the free resignation of Duncan Patricii to bishop George, Alexander de Yle, lord of the Isles, of the said diocese, the patron, presented the said Dougal to the said bishop within the lawful time; and adding that the said bishop has made collation to Dougal Laurencii, priest, of the said diocese, and has unjustly refused to admit the said presentation and to institute the said Dougal son of Dougal—to summon Dougal Laurencii (who under pretext of the said collation has unduly detained possession for more than a year, but less than two), and to collate and assign the said rectory, value not exceeding 8 marks sterling, still void as above, to Dougal son of Dougal, removing Dougal Laurencii and any other; whether it be void as stated, or in any other way.
