To the abbot of Cella Nigra in the diocese of Derry, and Odo Mackamayl and Donald Ocailte, canons of Derry. Mandate to collate and assign to Eugenius Oqueribollan, clerk, of the diocese of Derry (who lately, notwithstanding his illegitimacy, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, had himself tonsured) the rectory of Ardsratha in the said diocese, value not exceeding 10 marks sterling, void by the death of Isaac Oculean; summoning and removing Cornelius Otomoltan, priest, of the said diocese, who obtained papal letters against Cornelius Oirmegaich, priest, of the same diocese, in the matter of his deprivation on account of crimes pretended (conficta), and who, having by bribery obtained a venal definitive sentence, has under pretext of its execution unlawfully detained possession for between two and three years; whether it be void as stated, or by the free resignation of the said Cornelius Oirmegaich, or in any other way. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Thady Omuryssaid alias Mackanerruly, priest, of the diocese of Limerick, that David Gundun, perpetual vicar of Kylmegen in the diocese of Ossory, has dissipated many of the goods of the said vicarage, has detained two incompatible benefices without dispensation, has neglected the cure of souls of the parishioners of the said church, and is a notorious fornicator—if Thady will accuse David, who is a priest, before them, etc., to summon David, and if they find the above or enough thereof to be true, to deprive David, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 10 marks sterling, to Thady; whether it become void by such deprivation, or be void by the death of William Weng, or be void in any other way. To the prior of St. Mary's, Inchmacnerin (de Insula Macneri), in the diocese of Elphin, and the dean and Cormac Macdonchaid, a canon, of Elphin. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Imarus Macaclerid, priest, of the diocese of Elphin, that Odo Macaclerid, perpetual vicar of Tamnacha in the said diocese, sought to compel by lay power Malachy Macaclerid and Nemias Macaclerid, laymen, of the said diocese, to pay him a certain quantity of bread, flesh and other victuals (cibariorum), due to him from them, as he alleged, on account of his temporal lordship, and that the said laymen brought him before John, bishop of Elphin, who, upon his contumacy, promulgated sentence of excommunication against him, and ordered him to be publicly declared excommunicate, regardless of which he has publicly and more than once celebrated mass, etc. in contempt of the keys, and is also a dissipator and dilapidator of the goods of the said vicarage—if Imarus will accuse before them etc. the said Odo, who is a priest, and has held the said vicarage for five years and more, to summon Odo, and if they find the above to be true, to deprive him, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 3 marks sterling, to Imarus; whether it become void by such deprivation, or be void by the death of Matthew Macaclerid, or by the free resignation of the said Odo, or in any other way. To William Turrnbull. Collation and provision to him, a priest, of the perpetual vicarage of Cadzow in the diocese of Glasgow, value, with that of the annexed chapel of Dalseeff [sic], not exceeding 10l. sterling, void at the apostolic see, and therefore reserved, by the resignation to the pope, without having had possession, of Robert Lawedre, to whom, on its voidance by the death of Adam de Strahern, provision thereof was made by papal authority, and who won in the Roman court a definitive sentence, which became a res judicata, against David Cadzow, priest, of the said diocese, by which the vicarage was adjudged to him etc.; notwithstanding that the pope lately ordered provision to be made to him of a benefice with or without cure in the gift of the abbot and convent of Calkou, O.S.B., and the abbot and convent of Gedworth, O.S.A., in the dioceses of St. Andrews and Glasgow, which upon his obtaining the said vicarage shall be null as far as regards a benefice with cure only. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Cornelius Oclabayd, clerk, of the diocese of Elphin, that Matthew Oclabayd, perpetual vicar of Fueran, has dilapidated goods of the said vicarage, is a notorious fornicator, and has neglected the cure of souls, whereby many of the parishioners have died without extreme unction—if Cornelius (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of unmarried parents, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure) will accuse Matthew before the above prior, etc. as usual, to summon Matthew, and if he find the above to be true, to deprive him, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 8 marks sterling, to Cornelius. To the dean, the archdeacon and Donald Ochailthi, a canon, of Derry, Mandate to collate and assign to Thady Omoelanfaidy [sic], clerk, of the diocese of Derry, who lately, notwithstanding his illegitimacy, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, had himself tonsured, the rectory of St. Patrick's, Domnachmormugisy, in the said diocese, with cure and value not exceeding 7 marks sterling, so long void, by the death of Laurence Omoelanfardi [sic], that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; summoning and removing Donatus Occarwaillan, priest, of the said diocese, who made an agreement with the said Laurence that if Laurence would resign the rectory in his favour, he would give him a third part of the fruits yearly, in accordance with which Laurence is alleged to have simoniacally given up the rectory, without authority of the superior, in favour of Donatus, and to have resigned it to him, after which Donatus intruded himself by his own temerity and has detained possession for between seven and eight years.
