Miscellaneous 1659

[1659?] 1,104. Petition of Cornelius Burough to Lieutenant General Edward Doyley, the Field Officers of the Army and the Captains of the Fleet. I have held my present office four years, having performed my service faithfully and received recognition of the same; notwithstanding which Captain Christopher Myngs in the hearing of others accused me of being one of the greatest rogues employed by the State, Captain Myngs adding that he could ruin me when he got home by exposing my dishonest practices. I beg that he be required to put in a charge against me, to the end that proceedings be had against him. Certified copy. 1 p. [Colonial Papers, Vol. LXV., No. 5.]
