Milan.
1021. Ludovico Audoeno, Bishop of Cassano, to Cardinal Borromeo.
Has received summons from pope to leave for Rome in a fortnight. Last year Cardinal Caraffa wrote that he was not bound to go within three years from his last visit, of which only two are completed. Will obey, but regrets leaving in Lent when a bishop does something with his flock, and his first synod is summoned for immediately after Easter; will put this off. Hopes to start on the 13th or 14th inst.
Cassano, the 2nd March, 1590.
