Oct. 8. Papers Read.
The petition of the clothiers of his Majesty's Guards and Garrisons [is read] praying payment of the offreckonings, the warrant being recalled which was signed for their being paid in South Sea Stock. Care will be taken to pay them out of the proceed of S.S.S. [South Sea Stock] but not with preference to the money [for the Navy] for putting the ships out of pay. Ibid.
