Sept. 10.	Treasurer Danby directs that 500l. be immediately paid to Mr. May for Healing Medals : and that enquiry be made how the accompt of those medals is to be comptrolled and to see the particulars of what is expended [on such medals] since his Lordship's time [of acting as Lord Treasurer]. In the margin. Done. By his Majesty's command Treasurer Danby directs that an order on the fee farms for 1,000l. (whereof 950l. principal is yet unpaid) belonging to the late Duke of Richmond ([but drawn] in the name of Gawen] with the interest (and [which has since been] assigned to pay debts which Lord O'Brien has been forced to pay) shall be paid by way of secret service. Upon Mr. Tho. Holland's application to be in the Commission of Appeals [in Excise] instead of Mr. Pigeon (who was only in trust for him) his Majesty has directed that inasmuch as the Commission has gone so far [that] it cannot well be re-called, Mr. Holland shall have 200l. per an. during his father's life out of money issued for secret service. In the margin : Done. Mr. Bell's account of money due to Mr. Blake (advanced by him on the Customs) is to be referred to an Auditor to state the interest as [was done in the case of] the bankers. Sept. 17. Monday forenoon.	The two Chief Justices, the Chief Baron and the rest of the Barons of the Exchequer are to be desired to be at the Treasury Chambers [to advise] with Treasurer Danby at 10 o'clock in the forenoon of this day. [Day Book, p. 132.]
