The Treasury Lords are informed from Ireland of some fraudulent practices of merchants in the Isle of Man by the advantage they take there to break bulk and run their wine, tobacco and fine goods thence in small boats to the creeks of the three kingdoms. This is become a mere nuisance. Report what can be done.		Ibid.

	Treasury warrant to the Customs Commissioners to observe an order of the King in Council as follows about [sea] passes.		Out Letters (Customs) VIII, pp. 192–4.
	Prefixing: said order dated Whitehall, 1682, May 11. The Admiralty Lords have this day proposed to change the form of a pass annexed to the treaty lately made with Algiers and in place thereof to use the form of a pass heretofore used in the former treaty with Algiers and those now in force with Tunis and Tripoli and that certain rules be observed for obtaining same. Hereof the King approved. The fees at the Admiralty for granting such passes are not to exceed 20s.
	Appending: rules for passes to be observed in pursuance of the treaty with Algiers: (1) to be granted only by the Admiralty (2) and only to English ships or ships naturalized, (3) whereof the master is a native or denizen and two-thirds the mariners natives. (4) The master to give bond in 50l. or 100l. to give up the pass on returning. (5) If in London port the ship to be first viewed and certified by the Surveyor of the Navigation Act. If in the outports, then by the collector. (6) The master to make oath. (7) The form of pass to be printed. (8) A register to be kept at the Admiralty of all such passes, distinct from the register kept in pursuance of other treaties.

	Treasury warrant to William Harbord, Thomas Agar, Thomas Newton, woodward [of Whittlewood and Salcey forests] and Samuel Rolt, gent., to fell decayed timber, unfit for the Navy, to the value of 30l. to meet the cost of scouring the watercourses and ditches in Whittlewood, for want of which there are about 12 or more very deep and dangerous slowes whereby many of the neighbouring inhabitants are disabled the greatest part of the year from passing with their teams to the adjacent markets; and Mr. Bowyer, the present purveyor, employed there for felling 300 trees for the Navy will be scarce able to convey same away unless the slowes be mended. 	Mr. John Colhurst desires that no grant pass to the Earl of Clancarty or any other of the lands of Ballyvoorney in Muskerry till notice be given to him: to be sent to Henry Austin at the Black Boy against St. Dunstan's church in Fleet Street.
