petitioner shewing that by the annexed accompt
[missing] which is an estimate of moneys due to him
from the time of his suspension to the time of his
surrender and by the reports from the Mint Commissioners and the Auditors [of Imprests] it appears
that at 1684, Mar. 23, "there remained due to your
petitioner his Majesty's debt of 4,958l. 7s. 3¼d. in
arrear and the 8,632l. paid to the importers [of
bullion to the Mint] 1,402l. 3s. 6¾d. besides the
224l. 4s. 0d. levied on the sale of his goods and
paid into the Exchequer not then allowed him and
besides the moneys imprested to the Warden by his
Majesty's orders for repairs of the Mint of
2,157l. 0s. 8d. so certified which made in all due
unto him 3,783l. 8s. 2¾d. since which time unto the
20th of May, 1686, the said Commissioners have
not been called upon to deliver your Lordship
their subsequent accompts of the salaries, allowances and profits by the petitioner's [Mint] indenture
and for the two third parts of the salary and allowance devised to him by Blondeau's and Colborn's
wills what they have amounted unto within the
said time; which he humbly conceives they may
do in less than half a day's time when directed by
your Lordship: and but that your petitioner not
knowing what the waste in making the assaies of
the moneys nor the moiety of the officers' diet does
amount unto which are appointed unto him to
allow, your petitioner could not make his estimate
so exact as otherwise he might have done, which
they may quickly extract out of their books: the
rest of their accounts will be soon made up, for the
said Commissioners having recorded in the King's
books [in the Mint] the totals of the weight of gold
and silver moneys (a just extract of which your
petitioner has from time to time taken) and there
being as by their said former accounts reported
and allowed unto your petitioner 2s. 6d. out of his
7s. for coinage of every pound weight of gold and
5½d. out of his 18d. for every pound weight of silver,
his pension of 500l. and other salaries known by
them the whole accompt of the moneys due unto
him may in a very short time be made up and
completed: therefore prays an order to said Comsioners to continue their said accounts from 1684,
Mar. 25, to 1686, May 20, which may give the Lord
Treasurer satisfaction concerning petitioner's
claims and may induce his Lordship to imprest to
petitioner such sums as may supply his present
urgent occasions, being unhappily engaged in a trial
at Cambridge this next assizes and other encumbrances. |

and wherein likewise 13 Companies of Foot Guards
were encamped; whereby he lost the whole profit
of said meadows, amounting to 60l. per an. and yet
is forced to pay rent and taxes for same I am
certified May 31 last by Mr. Blathwaite that 50l.
may be a full compensation for the damages sustained that year by the Companies of the Royal
