Union with Scotland.

Moved, that the Matter of the Union might not be dealt in till Friday; and Mr. Serjeant, to command the Attendance of the Lawyers, and others, that Day.

Privilege - Arresting a Member.

Robert Bateman, a Clerk in Mr. Brokers Office, convented for procuring Mr. James his Arrest, examined, whether he knew he was a Member of the House. - He knew it, after the Arrest. - Went to Mr. Turfitt's House : After Supper, knowing he was a Member, sent to Prison. Hutchins, the Serjeant, - Moved, that he might be sent to the Tower, as the proper Prison of the House : Moved also, that he might be committed to the Serjeant: - To be restrained in Prison of their Persons.

Q. Whether to be committed to the Serjeant: - Resolved.

Q. Whether a Month: - Resolved: And then to be delivered by the Privity of the House: The Pleasure of the House to be known. To be continued a Month, with personal Imprisonment.

Mr. Speaker pronounceth the Judgment accordingly.

Leave of Absence.

Sir Geo. Smyth of Exeter, being extreme sick of the Gout, and not able to travel, upon the Testimony and Oath of Tho. Midwynter, his Servant, is to be licensed and excused for his Attendance at this Session, if he shall not thoroughly recover, and be able to travel.
