Tanners, &c.

THE Bill touching Tanners, and Leather, brought in from the Committees, by Sir John Savill, with Amendments. - Ingrossetur.

D. of Norfolk.

The Bill for the Restitution in Blood of the Lord William Howard, and the Children of the Lady Mary Sackvile,&c. brought in by Sir Fra. Hastings, from the Committee without Amendment; and passed, upon Question.

Sir Fr. Bacon doth justify the Proceeding of the Committee, upon Reasons, general, and particular for the Person. -

The Eye of Law doth not take Notice of Matter of Religion : It is but the Eye of Fame.

The Names of divers Burgesses, where he had Interest by the Earl of Arundell, read in the House; as aTestimony of the Choice of such Men, as were religious, and a

Testimony of his good Mind in the Choice.

Utlaries : - To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the Exchequer Chamber.

Union with Scotland.

Union. -

Sir Fr. Bacon reporteth that the Lord Chancellor, in the Conference, conceived. Two Things the Cause of that Conference: One, to receive the Names; the other, to confer of the Act. - The Committees not prepared for the Second.

A Conference of the great Committee, amongst themselves, first, before they confer with the Lords.

Purveyors.

Purveyors: - This Afternoon.

Union with Scotland.

This Afternoon the great Committee, for the Union, to meet, at the Time and Place where the Committee for Purveyors meet; and if they cannot this Afternoon, then upon Friday.

Wards, &c.

Sir Maurice Berkley moveth for the Matter of the Wards; that it may go hand in hand with the Purveyors. - Made an excellent and a long Speech for the Furtherance of the Matter of Wards.

Sir Tho. Ridgeway: - That it might go in the Conference, touching the Union.

Sir Henry Beamount: - That, for Magna Charta, the Subjects gave the 15th Part of their Moveables.

Mr. Martin . - His Majesty hath now broken the Heart of this Matter of Wards, for the Ground was, for Voyages into Scotland.

Sir Rob. Wingfield: - That in our Message to the Lords, we should desire their Lordships to join.

Mr. Winch : - That it may be single.

Sir Edwyn Sandys: - That it hath been said, that he, that is against the Union, will be glad to come, and beg it, within these Forty Years, on their Knees, when their Daughters should be married into Scotland, and the Scotts inhabit here, &c.

Sir John Hollice, Mr. Hare, Sir John Savill: - That it may go alone.

1. Whether to desire the Lords to join with this House: in a Petition for Composition for Wardship: - Resolved. -

2. Whether to desire a Conference, touching the Framing of a Petition for Leave to treat: - Resolved.

3. Whether the Matter of Composition for Wardship shall go hand in hand with the Composition for Purveyors: - Resolved, To go single.

Mr. Vice Chamberlain, Sir Fr. Hastings, Sir Edw. Stafford, Sir Geo. Moore, Sir Edw. Hobby, this Afternoon to go, and let the Lords know, that they will give a Meeting upon Saturday for the Matter of Union.

Irish Captains.

A Message from his Majesty, touching Irish Captains; that there might be a new Time and Place. -

On Monday, the same Committees, formerly appointed; and the same Place. -

Mr. Lieutenant moveth, touching the Prisoners in the Tower; the Warden, and Bridger.

Bridger to be delivered. The Warden to be delivered out of Little Ease, but to be Prisoner still in the Tower.
