Ecclesiastical Courts.

1. Reading: B. To direct some Proceedings in ecclesiastical Courts, and Causes.

Corporations.

Mr. Fuller reporteth the Bill touching Misnamer of Corporations, with some Alterations; which being twice read: the Bill was put to Question for ingrossing.

Mr. Hoskins, contra; Mr. Fuller, pro; Sir Rob. Hitcham, contra.

Upon the Question, ordered to be ingrossed.

Conference.

Sir John Crook, and Mr. D. Swale, and D. Hone, bring from the Lords a Message, in Answer: - The Lords have considered of the Message: - Looking back to the uniform Proceeding, expected a Conference: In the Message they were not satisfied. Their Lordships thought it was some Diminution to the Capacity of this House, for whom nothing is too great, nor any thing too little for them: Desire, that, if, upon second Cogitations, they would yield to a Conference, they would be glad to join with them ; if otherwise, lest there should any Stay of the Business, and Loss of Time, their Lordships will consider of such Things, as they think fit, and leave this House to proceed in Sort, as shall be thought fit by the House; sithence the Matters to be treated do concern every Member, in their Blood, Goods, and Fortune.

Answ. That the House would send, by their own Messengers, an Answer.

Sir Herbert Crofts: - That, by the former Message, it was not meant any Refusal of Conference; but that it was intended only for the Preparation of the Business, in distributing it in that Fashion : But now they have better thought of it, they will think of the Whole, in the House, and by Committee, and then will be ready to confer with their Lordships, of the Whole.

Sir Herbert Crofts did the Message, being so ordered, upon Question in the House.

Lake's Statute.

It is ordered, that Sir Tho. Lake's Statute shall be delivered to the Feoffees; and the Counterpaine.

Conference.

Sir Herbert Crofts returned, that the Lords took good Liking of their Message: That they would consider particularly, with all Speed; and that they desired, this House would do so likewise, with all Expedition; and that then they would be ready for a Conference.
