Mr. Vice-chamberlain . - That the Charge about the second Stay of the Peter, not fit to be transmitted to the Lords. - It will not prejudice the Duke: For the King avoweth the Act. This Ship restored, and in Fraunce; yet our Goods and Ships not restored, but more strictly restrained than heretofore. - Doubteth, the Ambassador of Fraunce hath practised to incense this House, to the Frenches Benefit, and the Loss of the English.
Mr. Glanvyle reporteth Information given from the Lord Cary, concerning the 6,000l. paid for the Mastership of the Wards ; and other Informations, from Sir Ro. Howard, Sir Wm. Russell, Sir Ro. Pye, Sir Jo. Heppesley, Sir Wm. Howard, and Sir Wm. Mounson.
1. Upon Question, such of the Charges, passed by the Vote of this House against the Duke of Buckingham, which shall be thought fit by this House to be transmitted, shall be transmitted to the Lords.
2ly, Upon Question, the Charge upon the Duke of Buckingham, concerning the second Stay of the Peter of Newhaven, to be transmitted to the Lords among the Residue of the Charges against him.
3ly, Upon Question, all other the several Charges, contained in the Papers read, to be transmitted to the Lords.
The Committee of Twelve to consider of the Papers and Proofs, and of the Distribution of them; and to report their Opinions, and Proceedings therein, to the House To-morrow Morning.
Message from the King - Subsidy.
Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer acquainteth the House, that the King accepteth the Subsidy in good Part ; and desireth that Speed, it may do him good.
Subsidy.
The Grand Committee to sit To-morrow Morning, to agree upon the Time of Payment of the 4th Subsidy, and like Circumstances therein, and then to report the same to the House; that so the Bill may proceed; for that the King, upon the Grant thereof thus far, the King can get no Credit, either at home or abroad.
Charge against Duke of Buckingham.
Sir Lewis Dyve: - That the Earl of Bristow avoweth the Charge, delivered in Yesterday by the Lord Digby; but that the Earl of Bristow hath not delivered in as a Charge here, because that properly to be determined above; but that the Lord Digby hath done it, being One of the Commons, and desiring to have some Course taken, that he inherit not a tainted Honour; and that the Earl of Bristow saith, that he hath accused the Duke, in the Lords House, of High Treason.
