L. 1a. AN Act for the Naturalization of John Sasse, and Peter Van Payne, of London.

Goldsmiths Patents, &c. to be brought.

A Petition from the Company of Goldsmiths, read.

The Parties to bring in all the Patents, &c. upon Monday next, and leave them with the Clerk, upon Monday next, upon Notice; else a Serjeant at Arms.

Wrenham to bring in the Warrant, under the Signet, for Darbyshyre, and to leave the same with the Clerk upon Monday next; else a Serjeant at Arms.

Turkey Company.

Mr. Spencer reporteth from the Committee for the Turkey Company. - Seizure of Currants, above One Year sithence, for Non-payment of an Imposition of 2s. 2d. Some imprisoned. - Bona peritura. -

That the Merchants, besides this Impost, which is 9 per Cent, have paid 17 per Cent, already, so as the Sum demanded is 26 per Cent, for Impost.

The Petition from the Merchants trading the Levant Seas, read, and the State of the Cause annexed.

Upon Question, a Committee of the whole House, upon Monday Morning, to take Consideration of the Bill of Tonage and Poundage, and of Impositions in general, and of Wine and Currants in particular; and, to that end, Sir D. Digges to report first to the House from the grand Committee for Trade.

All the Privy Council of the House to renew the Request of this House to his Majesty, that the Merchants may have these their Goods delivered them, being bona peritura; they entering into Bond to pay whatsoever shall be found due.

Imposition on Coals.

Sir Jo. Wostenholme to bring to this grand Committee, the Privy Seal, concerning an Imposition of 2 s. upon a Chaldron of Coals; and another, of 5s. a Chaldron, of all to be exported; and the Directions for the Stay of putting the same in Execution.

Books of Rates.

Informed, That Two new Books of Rates lately printed; by One of which 50,000l. per Annum advanced, by the other 100,000l. advanced. Sir Edm. Sawyer nominated to be the Projector, and, being absent, sent tor by the Serjeant into the Exchequer.

Word returned, that he is not there. Ordered, He shall bring those Books to the House, if he have any: And the Officers of the Custom-house then also to attend with the new Books of Rates, if they have any [a].

House to sit.

Sir Ch. Caesar, Sir Edw. Salter bring from the Lords a Message from the Lords; That they desire this House will sit a while : They are now accommodating of the great Business, and hope to dispatch it quickly; if not, they will send to us e'er it be long.

Answer returned by them : We will sit a convenient Time, as is desired. -

Petition of Right.

Sir Edw. Coke reporteth from the Lords, 1. The great Desire, the Lords had, of a good Correspondence with us. 2ly, Their great Desire, this might receive a good Issue. 3ly, That nothing done by them conclusively, but an Addition, to make it more sweet and passable to his Majesty. 4ly, Delivered in the Addition, to be inserted after our Petition, not altering either the Body, or Prayer, of our Petition. Prayed a Conclusion, with all convenient Speed; leaving it to us, whether we would sit this Afternoon, and so their House sit, for Occasions of a Conference..

This read : And a Message sent to the Lords, to let them know, that, they conceiving the Matter to be of great Weight, the House resolveth not to enter into further Consideration thereof now, but will take Consideration thereof on Monday Morning.
