Grantham's Estate.

SIR John Bolles reports from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the enabling Vincent Grantham, Esquire, to lease Part of his Manor of Golthoe in Lincolneshire, for raising Monies to pay Portions and Debts charged thereupon, was committed, That they had considered the Bill; and had directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendments: And he delivered the same in at the Table.

Earl of Suffolke's Estate.

Mr. Biddolph reports from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable the Trustees of James late Earl of Suffolke to sell the Manor of Hadstock in Essex, for discharging several other Manors and Lands of the said late Earl from Five thousand Pounds, Remainder of Ten thousand Pounds, by him formerly charged thereon, was committed, That they had considered the Bill; and had directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendments: And he delivered the same in at the Table.

Curtis' Estate.

Mr. Price reports from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the more speedy Payment of the Debts of Elizabeth Curtis, Widow, late deceased, and Performance of an Agreement touching the same, between Charles Curtis in his Life-time, and Edw. Earle, according to a Decree in the High Court of Chancery, was committed, That they had made several Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and afterwards a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House; and are as followeth;

Press last, Line 4, after "Majesties," add "their Heirs;" and, after "and," leave out "their."

Press last, Line 5, after "Success," insert "and the Heirs Males of the Body of Nic. Kelson, deceased."

Press last, Line 6, after "every," add "other."

Sadler's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable Sir Edwin Sadler, Baronet, to sell Lands to pay his Debts, was read the First time.

Resolved; That the Bill be read a Second time.

Keable's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled An Act to enable John Keeble, Gentleman, to sell certain Lands in Stow Markett, in the County of Suffolke, and to settle other Lands, of greater Value, to the same Uses, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Vernon's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled An Act for the better assuring to George Vernon, and his Heirs and Assigns, Four Acres of Land in Ebisham in the County of Surry, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Tho. Mackworth have Leave to go into the Country for a Fortnight, for his Health.

Privilege of a Member in a Suit.

A Petition of Sir John Cuttler, Knight and Baronet, a Member of this House, was presented and read; setting forth, That the Petitioner is prosecuted upon a Decree made in Chancery, at the Suit of the Lord Lawarr; whereby the Petitioner conceives himself much aggrieved: And praying, That he may be at Liberty to seek such lawful Relief against the said Decree, as his Counsel should advise, without incurring the Displeasure of the House, or else have Leave to resume his Privilege.

Ordered, That the said Petition do lie upon the Table.

Supply Bill; Duty on Low Wines.

An ingrossed Bill intituled, An Act for the better ordering and collecting the Duty upon Low Wines, and Strong Waters, and preventing the Abuses therein, was read the Third time.

An Amendment was proposed to be made, by leaving out "February," and inserting "March," instead thereof, in Press 1, Line 11; and Press last, Line 37.

And the same was, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House; and the Bill amended at the Table accordingly.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for the better ordering and collecting the Duty upon Low Wines, and Strong Waters, and preventing the Abuses therein.

Ordered, That Mr. Onslow do carry the Bill to the Lords; and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Michael Wentworth have Leave to go into the Country for Three Weeks, upon extraordinary Occasions.

A Bill for Encouragement of Clothiers, and others, dealing in Woolen Manufactures, and for Suppressing of Wool Broggers, and Ingrossers of Wool, and Blackwell Hall Factors, was read the First time,

Molyneux's Estate.

A Message from the Lords by Mr. Meredith and Mr. Keck;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act to vest certain Lands of William Molyneux, Gentleman, in Trustees, for raising the Sum of Two thousand Pounds, for paying the Portions to his younger Brother and Sisters, pursuant to a Decree in the Court of Chancery, without any Amendments.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Corresponding with their Majesties Enemies.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act against corresponding with their Majesties Enemies, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Conference desired with Lords.

Ordered, That Sir Joseph Tredenham do go to the Lords; and desire a free Conference with the Lords, upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference.

East India Company.

Then the House, according to Order, proceeded to take into Consideration the Answer, in Writing, delivered to this House, on Thursday last, by the Committee of the East India Company.

And, after Consideration had thereof,

Address concerning East India Company.

The Question being stated, That an humble Address be made to his Majesty, to dissolve the present East India Company, according to his Power reserved in their Charter; and to constitute another East India Company, for the better preserving of the East India Trade to this Kingdom, according to such Regulations as his Majesty, in his Royal Wisdom, shall think fit;

An Amendment was proposed to be made, by leaving out "according to such Regulations;" and inserting "in such manner."

And the Question being put, That the Words "according to such Regulations" stand Part of the Question;

The House divided.

The Yeas go forth.

So it passed in the Negative.

Resolved, That, instead of the said Words, be inserted "in such manner."

Resolved, That an humble Address be made to his Majesty, to dissolve the present East India Company, according to his Power reserved in their Charter; and to constitute another East India Company, for the better Preserving of the East India Trade to this Kingdom, in such manner as his Majesty, in his Royal Wisdom, shall think fit.

Resolved, That the said Address be presented by the whole House.

Ordered, That such Members of this House as are of his Majesties most honourable Privy Council, . . . . . . to know his Pleasure, When his Majesty will be attended by this House.

Supply Bill; Poll Tax.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Monday Morning next (after the further Consideration of the Report from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for vesting the forfeited Estates in Ireland in their Majesties for the Use of the War, was committed, is over), resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Bill for a Quarterly Poll.

Lords agree to Conference.

Sir Jos. Trendenham reports, That he having, according to Order, been at the Lords, to desire a free Conference upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference, the Lords do agree to a free Conference accordingly; and appoint the same upon Monday Morning next, at Twelve a Clock, in the Painted Chamber.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be revived.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight a Clock.
