Prayers.

Registry of Deeds, &c.

ORDERED, That the Bill for Registring of Memorials of Deeds, Conveyances, and Wills, be read a Second time upon Friday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock.

African Company.

A Petition of the Planters and Merchants interested in, and trading to, the Island of Barbadoes, on behalf of themselves, and the Inhabitants of that Island, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That the Petitioners are informed, a Petition of some Persons, who stile themselves the Royal African Company of England, is now depending in this House, whereby they pray Leave to bring in a Bill for establishing their Trade to Africa, pursuant to their Charter; which Trade, they insist, cannot be maintained without Forts and Castles, by a Joint Stock: That the Petitioners hope to satisfy the House, That the said pretended Charter is only an illegal Patent, which would exclude all other his Majesty's Subjects from trading to Africa; and that Trade would be best managed and secured to this Nation by a regulated Company, according to the Methods of the Turkey Company: And praying, That the said Patent may not be established; and that the said Trade may be carried on by a regulated Company, as the House shall think fit.

Ordered, That the Examination and Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee, to whom the Petition of the Royal African Company of England stands referred.

Supply Bill; Irish Forfeitures.

A Bill to vest the forfeited Estates in Ireland in their Majesties was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Monday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.

State of the Nation.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Sevennight, at Eleven's Clock, consider further of the present Posture and Condition of the Nation.

The King's Speech considered.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, proceeded to take into further Consideration his Majesty's most gracious Speech to both Houses of Parliament at the Opening of this Session.

And the same was read.

Tonage and Poundage.

A Motion being made, That the Subsidy of Tonage and Poundage be granted to their Majesties;

Resolved, That this House will resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Motion.

Ways and Means.

Resolved, That the Committee of the whole House, who are to sit To-morrow Morning, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour, do also consider of the said Motion.

Encouraging Seamen.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Wednesday Sevennight, at Ten a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of that Part of his Majesty's Speech, which relates to a Bill for the Encouragement of Seamen.

Triennial Parliaments.

Colonel Granvile, according to Order, reported, from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for frequent Meeting and Calling of Parliaments was committed, the Amendments made by the Committee to the said Bill; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were * * * *
