Ledgingham's Ship-Pumps.

A BILL for the Encouragement of Robert Ledgingham's new-invented Pumps for Ships was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time on Friday Morning next.

Jenkyns' Estate.

Mr. Brewer reported from the Committee, to whom the Bill to enable John Jenkyns Merchant to sell some Part of his Estate, for the Payment of his Debts, was committed, That they had examined and considered the same, and made some Amendments thereunto; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Raising the Militia.

A Bill for raising the Militia for the Year One thousand Six hundred and Ninety-eight, although the Month's Pay, formerly advanced, be not repaid, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.

Copper Coinage.

An ingrossed Bill to stop the Coining of Farthings and Halfpence, for One Year, was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act to stop the Coining of Farthings and Halfpence, for One Year.

Ordered, That Mr. Lowther do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Preventing false Election Returns.

A Bill for making more effectual an Act, made in the Twenty-third Year of the Reign of King Henry the Sixth, for remedying false and undue Returns of Members of Parliament; and also to prevent Double Returns; was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Friday Morning next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.

Assize of Bread.

An ingrossed Bill for the Assize of Bread was, according to Order, read the Third time.

And the Question being put, That the Bill do pass;

It passed in the Negative.

African Trade.

An ingrossed Bill to settle the Trade to Africa was, according to Order, read the Third time.

And an ingrossed Clause was offered, as a Rider, for the Duration of the Act:

And the same was twice read, with a Blank; and the Blank filled up:

And then the same was read the Third time; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House to be made Part of the Bill.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act to settle the Trade to Africa.

Ordered, That Mr. Norris do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be revived.
