Knott's Estate.

THE Lord Castleton, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill to enable the Trustees of Wm. Knott Gentleman, and his Wife, to sell a Lease of Houses in Bread-street, London, for Payment of Debts; and to settle another Estate, of better Value, in lieu thereof: And the same was received.

The Bill was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

A Member discharged from Custody.

Ordered, That Mr. Devereux, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, for absenting himself from his Service in Parliament, be discharged out of Custody, paying his Fees.

Ditto.

Ordered, That Mr. Papillon, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, for absenting himself from his Service in Parliament, be discharged out of Custody, paying his Fees.

Poor Relief.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to explain the Act passed the last Session, intituled, An Act for supplying some Defects in the Laws for Relief of the Poor of this Kingdom: And that Mr. Pagitt and Sir Henry Hobart do prepare, and bring in, the Bill.

Guibon's Estate.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to enable Sir Francis Guibon, and Dame Isabella his Wife, and their Trustees, to sell the Manor of Avenalls, and other Lands in or near Gunthorp, in the County of Norfolk; and for settling other Lands in lieu thereof.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir William Lowther have Leave to go into the Country, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Undue Marriages of Infants.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to prevent undue Marriages of Infants, and for better securing the Guardianship of them, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Oaths relating to Tallies, and Exchequer Business.

A Bill to give further Time for the Administring of Oaths relating to Tallies and Orders; and for the easier Dispatch of the publick Business in the Exchequer; was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Lowndes, Mr. Palmes, Sir Wm. Ashurst, Sir Tho. Hussey, Mr. Boscawen, Sir Henry Colt, Mr. Harley, Mr. Bromley, Sir Chr. Musgrave, Mr. Lowther, Colonel Granville, Sir Tho. Stanley, Mr. Arnold, Colonel Perry, Sir Robert Burdet, Mr. Farrer, Mr. Gwynn, Mr. Clerke, Sir Robert Cotton, Mr. Henley, Mr. Pelham, Mr. Brotherton, Mr. Morgan, Mr. Blofeild, Mr. Edw. Harley, Mr. Tho. Foley junior, Mr. Pocklington, Mr. Machell, Mr. Mawdit, Sir Fran. Winington, Mr. Fox, Lord Digby, Mr. Hoare, Lord Pawlet, Sir Marm. Wivell. Mr. Ash, Mr. Pagett, Mr. Fuller, Mr. Bethell, Mr. England: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Four a Clock, in the Speaker's Chambers.

Ordered, That it be an Instruction to the Committee, to whom the said Bill is committed, That they do receive a Clause to enlarge the Time for making Dividends of the Money, which the Bank receives upon Tallies, and Orders, subscribed into the Bank.

Supply.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the whole House, who are to consider further of the Supply to be granted to his Majesty, To consider further of the Summer and Winter Guards at Sea, for the Year 1698.

Preventing Correspondence with late King James.

Mr. Cowper, according to Order, reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill against corresponding with the late King James was committed, the Amendments made by the Committee to the said Bill; which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were read the First time throughout, and then a Second time, one by one: And, with an Amendment to one of the said Amendments, the said Amendments were, upon the Question, severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

A Clause was offered to be added to the Bill, That all Persons, who shall procure any Pardon or Grant from the late King James, after the and whosoever hath, since the taken any such Pardon or Grant, shall deliver up the same to his Majesty, or one of his Secretaries of State; or else shall be adjudged guilty of High Treason.

And the same was twice read with Blanks; and the Blanks filled up: And, upon the Question put thereupon, the Clause was agreed unto by the House to be made Part of the Bill.

Another Clause was offered to be added to the Bill, That all Persons prosecuted for Treason by the said Bill shall have the Benefit of a late Act for regulating Tryals in Cases of Treason.

And the same was twice read; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House to be made Part of the Bill.

Another Clause was offered to be added to the Bill, That all Grants of any Estate forfeited by virtue of the Bill shall be void.

And the same was twice read, and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House to be made Part of the Bill.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Supply.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply to be granted to his Majesty.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had come to a Resolution; which they had directed him to report, when the House will please to receive the same.

Ordered, That the said report be made To-morrow Morning.

Sir Thomas Littleton also acquainted the House, That they had directed him to move, That they may have Leave to fit again.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply to be granted to his Majesty.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
