Ship Margaret &c.
ORDERED, That Leave be given to bring in a Clause, to add the Ships Margaret and Friendship to the Bill for giving Leave to the Ship Jeffryes to import her Lading into this Kingdom.
Shaftesbury Work-houses.
An ingrossed Bill for erecting Work-houses, and Houses of Correction, in the Town of Shaftesbury, and for the better Employment and Maintenance of the Poor there; was read the Third time.
Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for erecting Work-houses and Houses of Correction, in the Town of Shaftesbury; and for the better Employment and Maintenance of the Poor there.
Ordered, That Mr. Nicholas do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.
Ledgingham's Ship Pumps.
A Petition of the Pump-makers in and about the City of London, on behalf of themselves, and others, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That by the Bill, depending in this House, for Encouraging of Robert Ledgingham's new-invented Pumps for Ships, the said Robert Ledgingham's Patent is to be confirmed, and the Petitioners restrained from making any thing resembling the same: That there is nothing new in the Petitioner's Hand-pump; and, they are informed, the same was outdone, upon Experiment made, before the Members of Trinity House, by the common Hand-pump now in Use: That the said Bill will utterly ruin the Petitioners, and their Families: Therefore pray to be heard, at the Bar of the House, before the said Bill do pass.
Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee, to whom the said Bill is committed.
Papers to be re-delivered.
Ordered, That the Books of * Toryn and * Toryn, which lie before the Committee appointed to consider of the Trade between England and Ireland; and how to make the Trade of this Kingdom more beneficial; be delivered back to them.
Pitt's Estate.
An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to confirm a Conveyance made by George Pitt Esquire, and others, of the Manor of Tarrant-Preston, and other Lands, in the County of Dorsett, to John Pitt Gentleman, and the Heirs Male of his Body, was read the First time.
Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time upon Tuesday Morning next.
Impeachment of Goudet, &c.
Ordered, That the Witnesses summoned to attend the Tryal of John Goudet, and others, upon the Impeachments against them, do attend the Committee appointed to manage the said Impeachments de die in diem.
Ditto.
Mr. Boyle reported, That he having been at the Lords, to acquaint them, That by reason of extraordinary Business, this House cannot be ready to prosecute the Impeachments against John Goudet, and others; and to desire, That their Lordships would appoint some other Day for the Tryal of the said Persons, upon the said Impeachments; the Lords have appointed this Day Sevennight for the Tryal of the said Persons.
Estates given to superstitious Uses.
Mr. Edward Harley, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill to vest the Estates given to superstitious Uses in Greenwich Hospital, for the Maintenance of Seamen, and other charitable Uses.
Ordered, That the Bill be read To-morrow Morning.
Customs Regulation.
Sir Walter Young, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill for the establishing further Rules, Orders, and Directions, for the regulating and better managing his Majesty's Customs.

Duties on Marriages, &c.
An ingrossed Bill for preventing Frauds and Abuses in charging, collecting, and paying, the Duties upon Marriages, Births, Burials, Bachelors, and Widowers, was read the Third Time.
Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for preventing Frauds and Abuses in charging, collecting, and paying the Duties upon Marriages, Births, Burials, Bachelors, and Widowers.
Ordered, That Sir Thomas Littleton do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.
Supply Bill; Tonage and Poundage.
Sir Tho. Littleton reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for granting to his Majesty a further Subsidy of Tonage and Poundage, towards raising the Sum of 700,000l. per Annum, for the Service of his Majesty's Houshold, and other Uses therein mentioned, during his Majesty's Life, was committed, the Amendments, made by the Committee, to the said Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House; which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.
A Clause was offered, to be added to the Bill, for saving the Rights of the late Bankers to their Debts:

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir John Franklyn:
Mr. Speaker,
Walrond's Estate.
The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act to enable Humphrey Walrond Gentleman to sell Part of his Estate, for the making Provision for his eldest Son, and Elizabeth his Daughter, who are Lunaticks; and Payment of his Debts; and raising Portions for his other Children: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
Accommodation of the House at Impeachments.
We are also to acquaint this House, That the Lords have considered of the Message from this House of the Sixth Instant, to desire a convenient Place may be appointed for the Managers of the Impeachments against John Goudet, and others, as is usual; and their Lordships, having looked into Precedents, do find, That, at Tryals upon Impeachments, at the Bar of the House of Lords, the Committee of the House of Commons, appointed to manage the Evidence, have always come to the Bar of the House, without any other Provision for them; and their Lordships intend to proceed in the same Manner, as hath been usual at all Tryals within their House.
And then the Messengers withdrew.
East-India Company.
