PRAYERS.

Collector of Subsidies.

WHEREAS it appears to this House, that the Service of the Kingdom is neglected, in the Collecting of the Subsidies, in the South Division of the Lath of Aylesford, County of Kent, by a Difference that is happened between the Commissioners, in the Appointing of a High Collector: The House, understanding that one Mr. Johnson is appointed by the major Part of the Commissioners, Orders, That the said Johnson shall stand and be High Collector, being appointed according to Law.

Privilege- Contemptuous Speeches.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Timothy Hutton, for contemptuous Speeches, uttered by him, against the Orders of this House, shall be forthwith committed to the Serjeant's Custody, there to remain during the Pleasure of the House.

Sir J. Berkeley.

Ordered, That the Constable of the Tower, the Lieutenant or Deputy Lieutenant of the same, do bring, in safe Custody, Sir John Berkeley Knight, a Prisoner there by a former Order of this House, to be examined before the Committees appointed for that Purpose, this Afternoon, at Two of Clock.

And it is farther Ordered, That he be brought thither, in safe Custody, de die in diem, as often as the Committee shall require.

Letter from the King.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Ro. Rich and Sir Edward Leech;

The Lords desire a present Conference, by a Committee of both Houses, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, concerning Letters received by the Lord Keeper from his Majesty.-

Ecclesiastical Canons.

Ordered, That the Debate of the Business concerning the Canons shall be resumed, so soon as the Conference shall be ended.-

Answer returned by the same Messengers; that the House has taken their Lordships Message into Consideration; and will give a present Meeting, as is desired.

Mr. Pime presents the Copy of a Letter, delivered at a Conference with the Lords, sent from his Majesty, the 20 Oct. superscribed, "For the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England."

Privilege- Threatening a Member.

Sir Gilbert Gerrard, Sir Robert Pye, Sir Oliver Luke, Sir John Hotham, are appointed presently to examine one Mr. Mordant, that is apprehended upon Suspicion to have sent the threatening Letter Yesterday to Mr. Pimme.

Proceedings against the Bishops.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this Debate concerning the Naming of the Crime of the Bishops in making the last new Canons, shall be, at this time, declined and laid aside.

Resolved, upon the Question, That no certain Time shall be now appointed, for the farther Debate of this Business, concerning the Naming of the Crime in the Bishops for the Making of the last new Canons.

Resolved, upon the Question, That this Debate shall not be resumed, upon any Day, before Eleven of Clock.

Resolved, upon the Question, That a Conference shall be desired with the Lords, concerning the Sequestring of the Thirteen Bishops, accused by the Commons, from their Votes in Parliament.

Resolved, upon the Question, that a Conference shall be had with the Lords, to desire their Lordships to sequester the rest of the Bishops from their Votes, upon the particular Bill, sent from this House, for the Taking away the Bishops Votes in Parliament.

This Committee is to prepare Heads for a Conference, to be desired with the Lords, concerning the Sequestring the Bishops from their Votes in Parliament, according to the Resolutions of the House: And are to meet presently, in the Exchequer-chamber: And to present the Heads to the House To-morrow Morning.

Impeachment of Justice Bartlett.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Ro. Rich and Mr. Page;

The Lords have commanded us to let you understand, that this Day Justice Barilett has been brought to the Bar; and the Impeachment of the Commons read unto him: And that he has pleaded, Not Guilty, in Manner and Form.

Strangers to go beyond Seas.

Resolved, upon the Question, That these Gentlemen, whose Names are delivered here in a List to the House, so many of them as are Strangers, shall have Liberty to go beyond the Seas: And that Warrants be sent to the Officers of the several Ports, to suffer them to pass accordingly: And to receive Entertainment from any foreign Prince.

Privilege- Threatening a Member.

Sir Robert Pye reports the Examination of Mr. Mordant, and the Witnesses, touching the threatening Letter, sent Yesterday to Mr. Pym: And they find, upon strict Examination of his Attorney at Common Law, and some others, that this Mr. Geo. Mordant was not the Man that delivered the Porter the said Letter: And that therefore he ought to be discharged.

Ordered, That Geo. Mordant shall be discharged from any further Restraint touching the Matter informed of against him.
