THE humble Petition of Sir Wm. Lambton, Sir Tho. Riddall, Sir Geo. Vane, and Tho. Davison Esquire, on the Behalf of themselves and the Bishoprick of Durham, was this Day read.

The humble Petition of the poor Inhabitants of the County of Northumberland was this Day likewise read.

The humble Petition of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace of the North Riding of the County of Yorke, concerning the Billet-money due to that County;

The humble Petition of the Inhabitants within the West Riding of the County of Yorke, concerning the Billetmoney due to that County, was this Day likewise read.

Resolved, upon the Question, That, on Monday next, peremptorily, the House shall be turned into a Committee, to take into Consideration this Report now made by Sir John Hotham, concerning the State of the Money and the Debt of the Kingdom; and likewise to consider of some way of raising Monies, to the end that the House may give Satisfaction to the Counties that have now petitioned: and to the Officers of the late Army; and to all others to whom there is any Money owing by this House; and that no other Business intervene: And Mr. Speaker is to put the House in mind of this Order.

Soap Trade.

Ordered, That the Committee for Soap shall be revived; and sit To-morrow at Eight of Clock, in the Exchequer-chamber.

Customers.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Customers be revived; and do sit on Monday next at Eight of Clock, in the Star-chamber: And the Serjeant is ordered to give notice to Sir Tho. Aston, to attend the said Committee at that time.

Pretended Customs.

2da vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Recovery of divers Sums of Money, unduly raised upon Merchants Goods exported and imported, under Colour of pretended Customs and Imposts due and yet not accounted for to his Majesty: Upon Question committed to the Committee for the Customers: And Mr. Maynard is added to this Committee: And they have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records; and have Power to receive any Propositions, that shall be made on their Behalf; and to report them to the House: And are to sit To-morrow at Eight of Clock, in the Starchamber.

Proceedings against Ashburneham, &c.

According to the Order for taking into Consideration what Name to give the Fact of Wm. Ashburneham, Commissary Willmott &c. the House fell into that Business:

And the Votes concerning them were read.

Resolved, upon the Question, That the Examination of Captain Chudleigh, pronounced by him at the Bar on the 13th of Aug. 1641, shall be now read:

And accordingly this Examination was read. -

Transactions with Scotland.

Mr. Pym reports, that the Lords assented to the Instructions sent up from this House, to be given to the Commissioners appointed to treat with the Commissioners of Scotland; and that they desired One Instruction might be added: The which was read; and, upon the Question, assented unto; in hac Verba, viz.

"You shall, from time to time, before you grow to any perfect Agreement, give an Account of what is propounded in this Treaty unto his Majesty, and the Two Houses of Parliament; and receive their Directions before you come to any binding Conclusion."-

Proceedings against Wilmott, &c.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. Henry Willmott shall be accused of Misprision of Treason.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Sir Hugh Pollard shall be accused of Misprision of Treason.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. Wm. Ashburneham shall be accused of Misprision of Treason.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Sir John Barkeley shall be accused of Misprision of Treason.

Expelled, and new Writs to be issued.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. H. Willmott shall continue no longer a Member of this House; but a Warrant shall forthwith issue, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, for a Writ for a new Election of a Burgess to serve in this Parliament, in the Stead of the said Henry Willmott, for the Town of Tamworth in the Com' of Stafford.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Sir Hugh Pollard shall continue no longer a Member of this House; but a Warrant shall forthwith issue, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, for a Writ for a new Election of a Burgess to serve in this Parliament, in the Stead of Sir Hugh Pollard, for the Town of Berealston in the County of Devon.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. Wm. Ashburneham shall continue no longer a Member of this House; but that a Warrant shall forthwith issue, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for a new Writ for the Election of a Burgess to serve in this Parliament, in the Stead of Mr. Wm. Ashburneham, for the Town of Lurgershall.

Resolved, upon the Question, That Mr. H. Piercy shall continue no longer a Member of this House; but that a Warrant shall forthwith issue, under Mr. Speaker's Hand, directed to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery, for a new Writ, for the Election of a Knight of the Shire to serve in this Parliament, in the Stead of the said H. Piercy, for the County of Northumberland.

Exceptions to Members' Words.

Ordered, That on Tuesday next shall be taken into Consideration, all such Words as have been formerly spoken by Members of this House, unto which Exceptions have been formerly taken, according to former Orders.
