PRAYERS.

Relief of Irish Ministers.

THE humble Petition of William Newman and Griffith Pierce, Ministers, of the Kingdom of Ireland, desiring Relief for the distressed Ministers of that Kingdom.

Mr. Salloway, Sir Simonds D'Ewes, Sir Edw. Partheriche, are appointed to prepare an Ordinance for a Collection, upon a Sunday, for the Relief of such distressed Ministers of Ireland, in the Cities of London, Westminster, the Counties of Middlesex, Essex, Kent, Surrey, and Herts.

Sequestring Estates.

Mr. Hill is appointed to prepare an Ordinance, for the sequestring of the Estates of all such as shall go out of the Kingdom, without the Leave and Licence of this House.

Maimed Soldiers.

Ordered, That the publick Collections on the next Fast Day shall be employed to the Relief of maimed Soldiers, as by former Orders; with the like Exceptions of St. Margaret's, Westminster, and St. Martin's in the Fields, and Covent Garden.

Governor, &c. of Nottingham.

A Letter from the Committee at Nottingham, of the Six-and-twentieth of August.

Ordered, That Lieutenant Colonel John Hutchinson, Governor of the Castle of Nottingham, and the Committee of Nottingham, in regard of their great Losses, and that they have had no Supply of Monies from the Parliament, shall have Liberty to keep a convenient Table at Nottingham; and shall have Allowance for it, out of the Monies raised out of their own County.

Buckle's Assessment.

Ordered, That Sir Christ. Buckle shall pay in, forthwith, Fifty Pounds, to the Committee at Surrey; which, with the One hundred Pounds paid by him to the Committee in the Army, together with the One hundred and Fifty Pounds paid by him formerly to the Committee in Surry, makes up the full Assessment of Three hundred Pounds, set upon the said Sir Christ. Buckle, by the said Committee, for his Fifth and Twentieth Part: And, upon the Payment of the said Fifty Pounds, he shall be discharged, and acquitted from his said Assessment of Three hundred Pounds; and shall have his Bond delivered up to him, entered into by the said Sir Christ. Buckle, for the Payment of Four hundred Pounds more to one of the Committee in the Army, on the Fifty of September present; and shall be discharged from the said Bond, and the Penalty of it: And that the said One hundred Pounds, paid by the said Sir Christ. Buckle to one of the Committee in the Army, shall be charged upon the said Person, and by him repaid unto the Committee at Surry.

Thorfield Rectory.

An Order for sequestring the Rectory of the Parish Church of Thorfield, in the County of Herts', whereof Dr. Mountfort is Rector, to the Benefit of Marmaduke Tenant, Master of Arts, a godly, learned, and orthodox Divine; who is hereby authorized to receive the Profits thereof, and to officiate the said Cure; and to preach diligently to the Parishioners of the said Parish; and to discharge the Cure of the said Place, in all the Duties thereof; was this Day read; and assented unto.

Horsted Parva Parsonage.

An Order for sequestring the Parsonage of Horsted Parva, in the County of Sussex, whereof John Peckam is now Parson, to the Use and Benefit of Joseph Biggs, Master of Arts, a godly, learned, and orthodox Divine; who is hereby authorized to receive the Profits thereof; and to preach diligently to the Parishioners; and to discharge the Cure, in all the Duties thereof; was this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto.

Sussex Assessment.

Resolved, &c. That the County of Sussex shall be added to the Ordinance for paying the Arrears of the weekly Assessment, in those Counties, for the providing and furnishing of Arms carried up by my Lord Ruthen.

Receivers of Money.

Mr. Wheeler to bring in an Order for the enforcing the Receivers of all Monies, in all Counties, to make Certificates of what they have received, that they may be brought to a perfect Account.

Proceedings against Bainton, &c.

Two Letters from the Isle of Wight, one from Mr. Lisle and Lieutenant Colonel Carne, of the Eight-and-twentieth of August; and one from Lieutenant Colonel Carne, of the Thirtieth of August, relating the apprehending of Sir Edw. Bainton, by virtue of an Order of the Committee of the Safety; and likewise, relating to some Charges of a high Nature, laid by him upon Mr. Pym, and the Lord Say.

Ordered, That Sir Edw. Bainton be brought up to this House, in safe Custody, to answer the Charge and Tax he has laid upon Mr. Pym, and the Lord Say; and that his Plate and Goods, seized there, be brought up with him; and that the Lords be acquainted herewith: And that Sir Edw. Bainton be kept in safe Custody till the House take further Order: And that his Horses be detained there, till further Order.

Delinquents Estates.

Sir Rob. Harley is appointed to bring in an Order concerning the concealed Estates of Delinquents.

Informations against Holte.

Ordered, That the Witnesses, and the Informations against Mr. Holte, Citizen and Goldsmith of London, be heard here, at the Bar, To-morrow Morning, at Nine of Clock.

Privilege to Steward.

Ordered, That Mr. William Steward, whose Estate is wholly in the Possession of the Parliament, shall have the Privilege and Protection from all Arrests and Suits without the Leave of this House.

Murray's Discharge.

Ordered, That it be recommended to the Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom, to take Security from Mrs. Murray, upon her Discharge, that she will not come to this Town, without the particular Leave of this House.

Pass for Lady Blount, &c.

Ordered, That the Lady Isabella, and the Lady Anne Blount, Daughters of the Earl of Newport, and Mr. Laurence Davies, his Lordship's Steward, and Two Men Servants, with a Coach and Four Horses, Two Saddle Geldings, a small Trunk of Apparel, and other necessary Accommodations, shall have Mr. Speaker's Warrant to go to Thame, in the County of Oxon.

Lady Aubigny.

The humble Petition of the Lady Aubigny, now under Restraint, desiring her Liberty, was this Day read.

Covenant from Scotland.

The Preamble and Conclusion to the Covenant, sent from the Commissioners of both Houses now in Scotland, were both this Day read; and, by Vote upon the Question, assented unto.

Answer from Lords.

Lord Ruthen brings Answer, that the Lords do agree to the Ordinance carried up by him to the Lords.

Island of Garnesey.

Ordered, That the Inhabitants in the Island of Garnesey that have sustained Loss by Sir Peter Osborne's beating down their Houses with Shot from the Fort, and have been at Charges in making of Fortifications against the Castle, shall have Allowance for their said Losses and Expences, out of the Estate of Sir Peter Osborne, which is sequestred here; and that the Sequestrators do make Payment to them accordingly, to such as shall bring good Certificate of their said Losses and Expences.

Lecturer of Sutton's Hospital.

Ordered, That the Master of Sutton's Hospital do admit Mr. Foxley, a Minister, into the Place of Preacher, Lecturer, and Reader, for that Hospital; and that he receive the Profits belonging to the said Places, and accustomably paid; and the Profits belonging to the Organist.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Edw. Littleton shall have Leave to be absent from the Service of the House for Three Weeks or a Month; and to go into the Country.

Squire's Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of Eliz. Squire be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Lords and Commons for Sequestrations; to consider of the same, for Relief of the Petitioner, if they find Cause.

Lady D'Aubigny.

Resolved, &c. That the Lady D'Aubigny shall be continued still in Restraint, at her own Charge; and that the Committee do again examine her; and that all Members of the House do forbear to visit her, but such as are appointed to examine her, without the particular Leave of this House.

Justice Bartlett.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Rob. Riche and Mr. Page;

The Lords do purpose to proceed against Justice Bartlett on Thursday Morning; and do desire this House to take Notice of it: And, in regard it has been put off so oft, by reason of the great Business of the Kingdom, they desire it may now hold, and that the Members of this House would attend it.

Ordered, That Mr. Maynard be acquainted with this Message.

Answer returned by the Messengers, that this House has considered their Lordships Message; and have appointed Members of their House to attend the Proceedings against Justice Berkley, at the Time appointed.

Associated Counties.

Ordered, That the Consideration of associating the County of Rutland with the Five associated Counties, of Huntingdon, Cambridge, &c. * * * *

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Lowry shall have Leave to go into the Country.

Wade's Petition.

Ordered, That the humble Petition of Alice Wade be especially recommended to the Committee for Irish Affairs, where Mr. Goodwyn has the Chair; for Relief.

Visiting Lady Aubigny.

Ordered, That Mr. Hill do To-morrow bring in a List of the Names of such Members as do usually and frequently visit the Lady Aubigny; there being an Order of the House to the contrary.

Covenant from Scotland.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee appointed to prepare an Answer to the Fifth Article of the Covenant sent from the Commissioners now in Scotland, to insert the Church of Ireland into the Covenant; and to fit it with Words apt to make it Sense and Coherence; and to make the first Person plural into the first Person singular: And to prepare it in such manner as may be fit to be transmitted to the Lords.
