Prayers.
THE Grand Committee proceeded to the Consideration of the Ordinance for raising of Twenty-one thousand Pounds per mensem for the Scotts Army under the Earl of Leven, according to former Order.
Mr. Corbett was called to the Chair.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Resolved, &c. That Sir Roger Burgoyne shall go down into Bedfordshire, instead of Sir Beauchamp St. John, to do the Service appointed by the former Order to be done by Sir Beauchamp St. John, for the speedy Bringing in of the Arrears of the Scotts Money in the County of Bedford.
Mr. Lisle reports, from the Committee, the Alterations to the Lords Amendments to the Ordinance for Raising and Maintaining of Forces to be under the Command of Sir Thomas Fairefaxe.
The Question being propounded, That to this Proviso following, propounded to be put to the Question; "Provided also, That the Commander in Chief, nominated in this Ordinance, shall have Power to nominate all Colonels, Lieutenant-Colonels, Serjeant-Majors, and all Captains, out of any the Forces under the Command of the Parliament;" That these Words might be added thereunto, "to be approved of by both Houses of Parliament;"
The Question was put, Whether these Words, "to be approved of by both Houses of Parliament," shall be added to the Proviso.
The House was divided thereupon.

Ordered, That the Letter from Sir Wm. Waller to Mr. Speaker, of this Fifth of February, now read; be referred to the Committee of both Kingdoms.
