Prayers.

THE Grand Committee of the House sat, to take into further Consideration the Ordinance for appointing the Sale of Bishops Lands.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

An Ordinance for appointing the Custody of the Great Seal of England to be in the Speakers of both Houses, and authorizing them to seal all Writs and Processes, and such other Things, as have usually passed under the Great Seal, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, Committed.

An Ordinance for the warranting a Commission to the Master of the Rolls, the several Judges of the several Benches, and the Masters of the Chancery, to hear and determine all Causes, that are or shall be commenced in Chancery, was this Day read the First and Second time; and, upon the Question, Committed.

Mr. Marten, Mr. Recorder, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Grimston, Mr. Gott, Mr. Crewe, Mr. Holles, Mr. Bainton, Mr. Serjeant Wilde, Mr. Boys, Mr. Lisle, Mr. Whitelock, Mr. Selden, Mr. Challenor, Sir John Evelyn of Wiltes, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Samuel Browne, Mr. Love, Mr. Bacon, Mr. Miles Corbett, Sir William Lewes, Mr. Nichlas;

This Committee, or any Five of them, are to consider of the said Two Ordinances: And are to meet upon them, in the Duchy-Court, this Afternoon at Two of the Clock; and to report the same on Monday Morning next.

And the Care hereof is more particularly referred to Mr. Reynolds.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth nominate and approve of William Ligon Esquire to be Sheriff of the County of Worcester: And that a Commission be issued, under the Great Seal, to him to be Sheriff of the said County accordingly.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

A Letter from the Commissioners of Scotland, from Worcester-house, of 24 Octobris 1646, representing the Necessities of their Army, and the Hardship the Country suffers by the Free-Quarter of their Army upon the Country, was this Day read.

Ordered, upon the Question, That the Paper offered by Colonel Harvey, concerning the Place of a Register Accomptant, be referred to the Consideration of the Grand Committee of the whole House, appointed to consider of the Ordinance for the Sale of Bishops Lands.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth nominate and approve of Rowland Hunt Esquire to be Sheriff of the County of Montgomery: And that a Commission be issued, under the Great Seal, to him to be Sheriff of the said County accordingly.
