Prayers.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Page;

The Lords desire a Conference, by Committees of both Houses, in the Painted Chamber, this Day at Eleven of Clock, if it may stand with the Conveniency of this House, concerning the Letter and Examinations which came from Cornewall. The Lords have nominated and appointed the Earl of Rutland to be Justice in the Eyre of all the King's Forests and Chaces beyond Trent: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House. They desire to put this House in mind of the Lord Grey of Warke's Petition: Which they formerly sent unto this House; and desire this House will take it into speedy Consideration.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree to a Conference, at Eleven of Clock, as is desired.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth concurr with the Lords, in the nominating and appointing the Earl of Rutland to be Justice in Eyre of all the King's Forests and Chaces beyond Trent.

Ordered, upon the Question, That, upon Tuesday next, peremptorily, the House do take into Consideration the Lord Grey of Wark's Petition, long since sent from the Lords, and oftentimes since recommended by the Lords to the Consideration of this House.

Answer returned by the same Messengers; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and do agree to a Conference, as is desired; and do concurr in nominating and appointing the Earl of Rutland to be Justice in Eyre of all the King's Forests and Chaces beyond Trent. They have appointed a Time for taking the Lord Greie's Petition into Consideration; and will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

The House, according to the Order Yesterday made, proceeded to the further Consideration of the Answer to the Scotts Commissioners Papers; and did read the Remainder of the said Declaration, in Parts; and voted it, Part by Part.

The Question being put, Whether these Words, "Lords and," shall stand in this Answer to the Scotts Commissioners Papers;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth pass, and assent unto this Answer to the Scotts Commissioners Papers.

The Question was propounded, Whether the Lords Concurrence shall be desired in this Answer to the Scotts Commissioners Papers:

And the Question being put, Whether this Question shall be put;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That a Copy of this Answer to the Scotts Commissioners Papers, and Letter, of the Twentieth and Twenty-fourth of October 1646, shall be sent to the Scotts Commissioners, as the Answer of this House to the said Papers, and Letter.

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to the Committee that prepared this Answer to the Scotts Commissioners Papers, to take care, that the Copy of this Answer be truly transcribed, according to the Original.

Resolved, &c. That a Copy of this Answer be sent to the Scotts Commissioners, in a Letter from Mr. Speaker.

Resolved, &c. That after that this Answer shall be sent to the Scotts Commissioners, That it shall be printed and published.

Resolved, &c. That the Members of this House that have not yet taken the Covenant here, shall take the Covenant on Wednesday Morning next, the first Business.

Ordered, That the Members of this House that are of the Committee of both Kingdoms, do, on Monday Morning next, meet with the Commissioners of Scotland, to confer with them, according to the former Orders, upon the Manner, and other Circumstances, concerning the Payment of the Monies assigned to be paid upon the Marching of their Forces out of the Kingdom.

Ordered, That these Words be added to the Oath appointed to be taken by the Surveyors of the Bishops Lands, by the Ordinance of the Ninth of October last; videlicet, "Except the Salary to be appointed to the said Surveyors by the Trustees named in the said Ordinance, or the major Part of them, for their Travail and Pains in the Execution of the said Service."
