Prayers.

Privilege-Arrest of a Member.

ORDERED, by the Parliament, That the Business touching the Arresting of Colonel James Temple, a Member of Parliament, be referred to the Committee for regulating the Proceedings in Law; to state the Matter of Fact; and report their Proceedings therein to the Parliament: With Power to send for Person, Papers, and what else may conduce to the Business.

Dover Castle.

Ordered, That the Council of State be impowered and authorized, for the present, to give a Commission to Lieutenant Colonel Kelsey to be Governor of Dover Castle: And that the said Council do send to the Lord General, to dispatch him a Commission for the Government of it, accordingly.

Delinquents Estates.

The House this Day resumed the Debate upon the Act for Sale of the Estates of divers Delinquents.

Resolved, by the Parliament, That, in all Places of the Bill, where the Word "Contractors" is, the same be omitted; and the Word "Trustees" to be inserted.

Resolved, That the Time of determining Claims be before the First Day of August 1651.

The Question being put, That the Power given to the Committee by this Act, "To hear, receive, and determine, all Claims, before the First Day of August 1651," do stand so amended;

It passed with the Affirmative.

The Question being put, That these Words; viz. "Such Stewards of Manors, and;" do stand in the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

The Question being put, That the Proviso in the next Clause touching Stewards, do stand in the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That, instead of "any Five of the said Trustees," these Words, "the Lords Commissioners for the Great Seal of England, or One of them," be inserted.

The Question being put, That these Words; viz. "desire and give Warrant to the Trustees to;" do stand in the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

The Question being put, That these Words; viz. "all Rents and;" do stand in this Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That these Words, "herein mentioned," be made "thereof."

Resolved, That these Words; viz. "and that all and every Person and Persons, Bodies Politick or Corporate;" be added in this Bill.

The Question being put, That the Second Instruction for the Treasurers do stand in the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

The Question being put, That this Clause, beginning with these Words, "And that the said Trustees," and ending with these Words, "for which they shall be sold," do stand in the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That the Clause, beginning with these Words; viz. "That the said Treasurers," and ending with these Words, "paying their Clerks and Tellers;" do stard in this Act.

It passed with the Negative.

The Question being put, That the Salary of a Peny in the Pound for the Treasurers named in this Act, do stand;

It passed with the Negative.

The Question being put, That this Clause in the Act, beginning thus, "And be it further Enacted, That the said Trustees, &c." and ending thus, "Copy of Court Roll respectively," do stand in the Act;

It passed with the Negative.

Resolved, That these Words, "respective Contractors," be omitted; and that the Word "Trustees" be inserted.

The Question being put, That these Words; viz. "every Tenant of the Premises, or any Part thereof; and;" do stand in the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

The Question being put, That these Words; viz. "of all Rents, and;" do stand in the Bill;

It passed with the Negative.

Interest of Money.

Ordered, That the Bill to bring Money to Six Pounds in the Hundred, be read To-morrow Morning, the first Business.

Resident from Tuscany.

A Letter from the Grand Duke of Tuscany, of the Two-and-twentieth of April 1651, was this Day read.

A Letter to Mr. Speaker, from Avierigo Salvetti, Resident of the Grand Duke of Tuscany of the Tenth of May 1651, was this Day read.

Resolved, That the said Resident be received, and have Audience, by a Committee of this House, in Manner agreeable to the Rules for Reception of Residents.

Resolved, That the Time for the said Resident to have Audience shall be on Wednesday next.

Resolved, That Sir Oliver Fleming Knight, Master of the Ceremonies, do give notice of these Votes to the said Resident; and attend him, in fitting Manner, on that Day, to the Place of Audience.
