Friday, the 29th of July, 1653.

Embassy from Bremen.

MR. Speaker, by way of Report, acquaints the House, he hath received Copies of Credentials given from the Consuls and Senators of the City of Bremen, dated the 30th of June 1653, unto the Lord Henry Oldenburgh, written in Latin, with the Translation in English: Which was now read.

The Question being put, That this Deputy from Bremen shall have Audience by Commissioners;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, That the Deputy from Bremen shall have Audience by the Council of State: And that the Council of State do give him Audience, accordingly.

Ordered, That Sir Oliver Fleming Knight, Master of the Ceremonies, do communicate this Vote to the said Deputy.

Admiralty Jurisdiction.

An Act for settling the Jurisdiction of the Court of Admiralty, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Name of Doctor Godolphin be inserted into this Act, for one of the Judges of the Admiralty.

The Question being put, That Lislebone Long Esquire be inserted into this Act, for one of the Judges of the Admiralty;

The House was divided.
The Yeas went forth.
