Prayers.

Council of State.

THE House this Day proceeded in the Choice of the rest of the Members of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Mr. Speaker appointed Sir Peter Wentworth, Colonel Waulton, Mr. Hay, and Mr. Thomas Challoner, to take out the Papers, and to count the Numbers; and to present those who have the greatest Numbers.

Sir Peter Wentworth reports, from the said Four Members, That there are in the said Paper these Two-andtwenty Persons, who have the greatest Numbers; viz.

Resolved, That Colonel Thompson be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Walter Strickland Esquire be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Sir Henry Mildmay be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Major-General Skippon be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That the Lord Grey be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Colonel Sidney be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Edmund Prideaux, Attorney-General, be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Sir John Trevor be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Colonel Norton be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Thomas Lister Esquire be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Colonel Ingoldsby be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Sir John Bourchier be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That William Earl of Salisbury be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Wm. Cawley Esquire be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That Sir William Brereton be one of the Council . . . . for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That John Fielder, Esquire be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

Resolved, That William Say Esquire be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

The three last Names being of equal Numbers, their Names were written in several Papers; which were put into a Hat: And Mr. Speaker drew out one of them; which being opened, and therein the Name of MajorGeneral Harrison written, the same being put to the Question;

It was Resolved, That Major-General Harrison be one of the Council of State for the Year ensuing.

The Papers, by the Command of the House, were burnt by the Tellers.

Assessment.

Ordered, That, on Wednesday next, the Committee do bring in an Act for an Assessment, with Blanks.

Charge of the Forces.

Ordered, That the Council of State do, on Wednesday next, report the State of the Charge of the Forces.

Judges of Admiralty.

The Question being propounded, That there be Three Persons appointed to be Judges of the Admiralty-Court for the Year ensuing;

And the Question being put, That this Question be now put:

It passed in the Affirmative.

And the main Question being put; It was

Resolved, That there be Three Persons appointed to be Judges of the Admiralty-Court for the Year ensuing.

Ordered, That the House do proceed in the Choice of the Judges of the Admiralty To-morrow Morning, the first Business; nothing to intervene.
