Wednesday, the 6th of July, 1653.
Leave to attend the Council.
RESOLVED, That Sir Gilbert Pickering have Leave to go unto the Council of State.
God's Blessing on Parliament.
The Question being put, That the House do go on in seeking the Lord, by Prayer, this Day;
It passed in the Negative.
Resolved, That Monday next be the Day wherein this House shall seek the Lord, in a solemn Manner, for a Blessing on their Proceedings.
Instrument appointing Members.
The Instrument, delivered in Yesterday by Sir Wm. Roberts, under the Hand and Seal of the Lord-General, by which the Members of this House were appointed, was this Day read.
The House was informed, that the Name of Mr. Langdon, one of the Members now present, being mistaken and made Walter, where his Name is Francis Langdon; which Mistake the Lord-General, in the Summons, had amended with his own Hand; It was
Resolved, That the Name in the Instrument be amended, and made Francis, instead of Walter.
The House being informed, That the Name of Sir James Hope is mistaken, and made Hopton, which is the Title of his Honour in Scotland;
Resolved, That the same be amended; and the Word Hopton made Hope in the Instrument.
Resolved, That the Name of Mr. Dunkon, being mis-written in the Instrument Duncombe, be amended.
Which several Amendments were made at the Table, accordingly.
Title of Address.
The House took into Debate the Title wherein all Addresses shall be made to this House.
The Question being put, That the Title of Parliament shall be given to this Assembly;
The House was divided.

So it was Resolved, That the Title of Parliament shall be given to this Assembly.
Resolved, That the Debate concerning what Addition shall be made to the Word "Parliament," in the Title of this House, shall be resumed To-morrow Morning.
