Prayers.

Gaming.

A BILL against Gaming was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, That the said Bill be read the Second time To-morrow Morning.

Loyalist Officers.

The Lord Bruce reports from the Committee to which the additional Bill for the Relief of the indigent loyal Officers was committed, That the Committee thought fit to retain Part of the Bill only; and had made Additions, instead of the rest of the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and after delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Which Addition, consisting of Three Sheets of Paper, was read the First time.

The First Paragraph of the Addition was read the Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

The next Paragraph was read the Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

The Third Paragraph, to define, Who shall be allowed Officers capable to share in the Distribution, was read the Second time.

The Question being put, That the Quartermasters do stand in the Paragraph;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Question being put, That Engineers, Commissaries, Conductors, and Comptrollers, do stand in the Paragraph;

It passed in the Negative.

And the Words were struck out accordingly.

Resolved, That the Paragraph so amended, be agreed to.

The Fourth Paragraph was read the Second time.

Ordered, That "Two hundred and Fifty" be inserted instead of "One hundred and Fifty," for the Number of a Regiment of Horse.

Which was done.

Resolved, That "Forty" be inserted, instead of "Twenty-five," for the Number of a Troop of Horse.

Which was done.

The Question being put, That the Paragraph, so amended, be agreed to;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The Fifth Paragraph was read the Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

The next Paragraph was read the Second time; and, on the Question, agreed to.

The next Paragraph, concerning relieving such as have lost, or had not, exact Certificates, was read the Second time; and, on the Question, agreed to.

The last Paragraph was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Word "Three" be inserted, instead of "Two."

Which was done; and some other Amendments made; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Crown Revenue.

Resolved, &c. That the House will sit this Afternoon: And that the Report from the Committee to which the Bill for the Improvement and better ordering his Majesty's Revenue is committed, be then heard the first Report.

Excise.

Ordered, That the Report of the additional Bill for the better ordering the Duty of Excise be heard this Afternoon.

Arrears of Excise.

Ordered, That the Report of the Bill for the Arrears of the Excise be heard this Afternoon.

Fisheries.

An ingrossed Bill for regulating the Herring and other Fisheries, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for regulating the Herring and other Fisheries.

And Sir George Downing is to carry up the Bill to the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Ld. Byron's Estate.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir William Child and Sir William Glascock;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you a Bill, intituled, An Act for Supplying of certain Evidences, in the Times of the late Troubles, belonging to the Estate of Richard Lord Byron: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Supply Bill.

The House did then resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill of Subsidies.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Prynn took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker again took the Chair.

Mr. Pryn reports, That the Committee had made some further Progress in the said Bill; and that it was the Opinion of the Committee, That, according to the Order of the House, the Names of Commissioners were to be agreed upon by the House.

Resolved, That, in the naming Commissioners for the several Counties, Cities, Towns Corporate, and other Places, the same Rules be observed that were in the Act of Subsidies, in 17° Car. Iml.

The House adjourns till Three of the Clock this Afternoon.

Post Meridiem.

Supply Bill.

THE House proceeded to the Naming of Commissioners for the Subsidies, in the several Counties, Cities, Towns Corporate, and other Places in England: The respective Lists whereof, being twice read, were, upon the Question, agreed unto; except for the County of Lincolne and City, the Town of Northampton, County of Oxford and City; the Lists whereof are not yet brought in.

Resolved, That the House, To-morrow Morning, Nine Clock, will proceed in the naming the rest of the Commissioners for the Subsidies.

The House adjourns till To-morrow Morning, Eight Clock.
