The House attended Divine Service.

MR. Speaker came to the House at half past ten of the clock, and at eleven of the clock, proceeded with the Members then present to Saint Margaret's Church; and, after Divine Service, returned to the House.

Chaplain thanked.

Resolved, Nemine Contradicente, That the Thanks of this House be given to the Reverend Francis Dawson, Chaplain to this House, for the Sermon by him preached this day, before this House, at Saint Margaret's Westminster; and that he be desired to print the same.

Adjournment.

Resolved, That this House will, at the rising of the House this day, adjourn till Thursday next.

Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer presented to the House, pursuant to their Address to His Majesty,-List of the number of Applications made to the Commissioners, under the Church Building Act, for building of any Chapels under the third section of the Act 7 & 8 Geo. 4, c. 72; and also, of the instances in which any such Applications have been acceded to.

Slave Bounties Bill, presented. No. 475.

Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer presented a Bill to reduce the Rate of Bounties payable upon the Seizure of Slaves: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time upon Thursday next.

Ordered, That the Bill be printed.

Petition against Assimilation of Stamp Duties on Newspapers (Ireland.)

A Petition of Letter press Printers of the town of Carlow, was presented, and read; setting forth, That the Petitioners observe, with astonishment and apprehension, that an intention has been avowed by His Majesty's Government to assimilate the rates of Taxation levied in Ireland to those of Great Britain; and that it is proposed to carry this measure into effect in regard to all Stamp Duties in the course of the present Session of Parliament; and praying the House to give the most mature deliberation to the prayer of their Petition, and cause a full and minute inquiry to be made into all the circumstances connected therewith, which will enable them to pursue a course more judicious and beneficial to the community, and avert the manifold disadvantages which, by the passing of the measure, must necessarily be entailed on a class of men who, above all others, from the peculiar nature of their occupation, are the least capable of undertaking any other employment.

Ordered, That the said Petition do lie upon the Table; and be printed.

Petition in favour of Jews Relief Bill.

A Petition of Protestant Dissenters assembling for the public worship of God in Rivington Chapel, parish of Bolton-le-Moors, was presented, and read; taking notice of the Bill for the Relief of His Majesty's Subjects professing the Jewish Religion; and praying, That the same may pass into a law.

Ordered, That the said Petition do lie upon the Table.

Dartmouth Bridge Bill, reported.

Sir Thomas Acland reported from the Committee on the re-committed Bill for building and establishing a Floating, Chain or other Bridge over the River Dart, from or near to Lower Sand Quay Point, in the County of Devon, unto a certain Place called Old Rock, in the said County, and for building Quays and Landing Places, and for making convenient Roads, Avenues and Approaches thereto, with Branches therefrom; That they had made several other Amendments thereunto; and the Amendments were read, and agreed to by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Committee on Militia Estimates, appointed.

Ordered, That a Select Committee be appointed to prepare Estimates of the Charge of the Disembodied Militia of Great Britain and Ireland, for the year 1830:- And a Committee was appointed of Sir Henry Hardinge, Mr. Calcraft, Mr. Secretary Sir Robert Peel, Mr. William Peel, Mr. Thomas Wood, Mr. George Dawson, Lord Stanley, Mr. Frankland Lewis, Sir Edward Knatchbull, Mr. Maurice FitzGerald, Mr. Spring Rice, Mr. Cradock, and all Colonels of Militia: And they are to meet upon Thursday next, in the Speaker's Chamber; and have Power to send for persons papers and records.

Ordered, That Three be the Quorum of the Committee.

The Lords, authorized by virtue of His Majesty's Commission, for declaring His Royal Assent to several Acts agreed upon by both Houses, do desire the immediate attendance of this Honourable House in the House of Peers, to hear the Commission read.
