Message to attend the King.

A MESSAGE from his Majesty, by Sir John Eyton, Usher of the Black Rod;

Mr. Speaker,

His Majesty commands this honourable House to attend him forthwith in his House of Peers.

And accordingly Mr. Speaker with the House went up to attend his Majesty.

Address on the King's Speech.

Resolved, &c. That the humble Thanks of this House be returned to his Majesty, for the Acts of Grace, relative to his Majesty's Speech, and to the Speech delivered by the Lord Keeper; and that a Committee be appointed to consider of the Speeches, and draw up an Address of Thanks to his Majesty; viz. Sir Thomas Littleton, Sir Thomas Clerges, Mr. Pryn, Sir Robert Carr, Sir Wm. Lewis, Sir Charles Harbord, Sir Robert Howard, Sir Thomas Osborne, Mr. John Vaughan, Sir John Holland, Colonel Williams, Sir Job Charlton, Mr. Whorwood, Sir Thomas Strickland, Mr. Hen. Coventry, Sir Wm. Lowther, Mr. Solicitor General, Sir John Lowther, Sir Solomon Swale, Mr. Harbord, Mr. Trevor, Sir Thomas Tompkins, Lord Saint John, Mr. Crouch: And they are to meet at Three of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Rochester Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Member for the City of Rochester in the County of Kent, in the room of Sir Wm. Batten, deceased.

Rye Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Baron for the Cinque Port of Rye in the County of Sussex, in the room of Mr. Herbert Morley, deceased.

Maidstone Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker to issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Member for the Town of Maidstone in Kent, in the room of Sir Edmond Peirce, deceased.

Great Grimsby Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Member for Great Grimsby in the County of Lincolne, in the room of Sir Henry Bellasis, deceased.

Shoreham Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Burgess for the Town of Shoreham in the County of Sussex, in the room of Dr. Quarterman, deceased.

Monmouth Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Knight of the Shire for the County of Monmouth, in the room of the Lord Herbert, called up to the House of Peers.

Carmarthen Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Knight of the Shire for the County of Carmarthen, in the room of the Lord Vaughan, deceased.

Shaftbury Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for for the Election of a Member for the Borough of Shaftbury in the County of Dorset, in the room of Sir John Lowe, deceased.

Litchfeild Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Election of a Member for the City of Litchfeild in the County of Stafford, in the room of Colonel Lane, deceased.

And then the House adjourned till Monday next, Eight of the Clock.
