Prayers.

St. Saviour's Parish.

A PETITION of the Churchwardens and Parishioners of the Parish of St. Saviour's, Southwarke, in the County of Surrey, was read.

Ordered, That this Petition be committed to the Committee, to which the Bill for settling the Maintenance of the Ministers of London is committed; to take the Matter into Consideration; and to make such Provision for the Petitioners, as they shall find just.

Privilege.

Ordered, That William Woolley Clerk, Richard Beadle, and Thomas Parsons, Bailiffs, employed by the said Mr. Woolley, be sent for in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, to answer their Breach of Privilege, in arresting Robert Massey, the menial Servant of Mr. How, a Member of this House, though they knew him to be Mr. Howe's Servant.

Lord Erwin's Estate.

Sir John Talbott reports from the Committee, to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, concerning the Lord Erwin, was committed, that the Committee had perused the Bill; and returned it, without any Amendment.

Ordered, That the Bill be read a Third time.

Clifton's Estate.

Sir John Knight reports from the Committee, to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, on behalf of the Lady Clifton, was committed, that the Committee had perused the Bill; and returned it, without any Amendment.

Ordered, That the Bill be read a Third time.

Bill's Estate.

Sir Solomon Swale reports from the Committee, to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, concerning Major Bill, was committed, that the Committee had perused the Bill; and returned it, without any Amendment.

Ordered, That the Bill be read a Third time.

William's Estate.

Sir William Doyley reports from the Committee, to which the Bill on the Behalf of Henry Williams Esquire, for vacating a Decree made by Commissioners, touching certain Fen Lands, was committed, some Amendments agreed to be made to the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the same being twice read, and agreed;

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Duty on Wines.

Sir John Knight reports from the Committee appointed to examine the Matter contained in the Petition of William Bulkley, and others, whether the Imposition of Three hundred and Ten thousand Pounds upon Wines be satisfied,

"Resolved, &c. That it be reported to the House, that this Committee are of Opinion, that the Sum of Three hundred and Ten thousand Pounds, and Interest, due upon the said Act for the Imposition on Wines, is already raised, secured, or recoverable, by virtue of the said Act, by Wines already imported."

Ordered, That an Address be made to his Majesty, by such Members of the House as are of his Majesty's Privy Council, humbly to desire him, to give Order, that a Stop be made of any further levying the Imposition of Four Pounds per Ton, formerly imposed on Wines, for the raising the Sum of Three hundred and Ten thousand Pounds, and Interest.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Mondeford Brampston and Sir William Glascocke:

Boston Navigation.

Mr. Speaker, the Lords have returned you the Bill for improving the Navigation between Boston and the River Trent, with some Amendments.

Lord Norrey's Estate.

And they have also sent you down a Bill, intituled, An Act to enable the making Conveyances of Part of the Estate of James Lord Norreys, during his Minority.

Bromely's Estate.

Ordered, That Mr. Strickland and Sir Francis Compton, be added to the Committee, to which the Bill on the Behalf of Mr. Bromely, was committed.

Supply.

The House then resolved in a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the Consideration of his Majesty's Supply.

Mr. Seymour reports from the Committee of the whole House for his Majesty's Supply, several Resolves agreed by the Committee: Which he read in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

The First Resolve of the Committee, viz. That, towards his Majesty's Supply, every one that resorts to any the Playhouses, who sits in the Box, shall pay Twelve-pence; every one who sits in the Pit, shall pay Six-pence; and every other Person, Three-pence; being twice read;

The Question being put, To agree with the Committee in that Resolve;

It passed in the Negative.

The rest of the Resolves of the Committee were twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to; and are as followeth, viz.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the Raising of the Sum of about, and not exceeding, Eight hundred thousand Pounds, towards his Majesty's Supply, be, by way of Subsidies, of the present yearly Value; and that Monies, Goods, and Offices, be charged thereunto.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that every One hundred Pounds shall pay Ten Shillings.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the Monies in the Hands of the Bankers shall be particularly charged.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee, that all Monies in the Hands of the Bankers be charged to pay, for every Hundred Pound, Fifteen Shillings.

Resolved, &c. That the House doth agree with the Committee, that Money may be lent to the King at Seven Pound per Cent.; and that Money so lent, or transferred upon any future Security, shall not be charged.

Resolved, &c. That all personal Estates and Stock, (except Stock upon Land, and Houshold-stuff) be charged to pay Six Shillings for every Hundred Pounds-worth.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that, towards his Majesty's Supply, the Profits of all Offices be charged at Two Shillings per Pound, and the Profits of all publick Places.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that, towards his Majesty's Supply, all Lands be charged at Twelve-pence per Pound, to be paid by Four Quarterly Payments; the First Payment to be made at Midsummer next.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that there shall be Deduction, for Debts, Annuities, and Rent-charges, Fee-farm Rents, and all other reserved Rents.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the Commissioners shall be nominated by the King.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the Commissioners shall be under the Obligation of an Oath.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the Assessors be under an Oath.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the Commissioners examine Witnesses upon Oath.

Ordered, That a Bill be brought in, upon the several Resolves agreed by the House: And it is recommended to Mr. Attorney General to take Care of the Bill.

Ordered, That the Committee, appointed to draw the publick Bills for his Majesty's Supply, do sit this Afternoon, to speed their Bills; and give an Account thereof to the House on Monday next.

Indigent Officers.

Ordered, That all that come have Voices at the Committee, to whom the Bill for the indigent loyal Officers, was committed.

Privilege.

Ordered, That the Answer returned in, by Mr. Cornwallis, to the Petition of Mr. Digby, be taken into Consideration the first Business on Monday Morning next.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
