Prayers.

Preventing Export of Wool.

ORDERED, That all the Members of this House, that serve for the several Counties of Suffolke, Norfolke, Surrey, Gloucester, Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, and Wiltshire, and all that serve for any Port Towns, be added to the Committee to which the Matter touching Exportation of Wool, is committed: And the Committee are revived; and to sit upon Thursday Morning next, at Eight of the Clock.

Tobacco.

A Bill to prevent the planting Tobacco in England and Ireland, and for Encouragement of the English Plantations, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Debate of this Bill be adjourned to Friday Morning.

Defaulter to Call of the House.

Colonel Norton made his Answer, and Excuse, in his Place, for being a Defaulter in Attendance: Which was, upon the Question, allowed by the House.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Dillington have the Leave of this House to go into the Country, to attend his Occasions.

Ordered, That Sir John Fagg have Leave to go into the Country, for Recovery of his Health.

Ordered, That Sir John Norton have the Leave of this House to go into the Country, to follow his Occasions at the Assizes.

Ordered, That Mr. Devereux have the Leave of this House to go into the Country, for Recovery of his Health.

Ordered, That Sir Courtney Poole have the Leave of this House to go into the Country, to follow his Occasions.

Peterborough Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do certify the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, of the Death of Mr. Orme, who lately served as a Member of this House, for the City of Peterborough in the County of Northampton; desiring him, that a Writ may issue forth, under the Great Seal, for Election of a Member to serve in this present Parliament, in his place and stead.

Supply Bill; foreign Commodities.

Ordered, That it be an Instruction to the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill concerning Impositions upon foreign Commodities is committed, to hear the Virgina Merchants, by themselves or Counsel, as to the Rate to be laid upon Tobacco of the English Plantations.

Ditto.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, upon the Bill for an additional Imposition on foreign Commodities.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Seymour took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Seymour reports from the said Committee, That they had made some Progress in the Consideration of the said Bill; and humbly moved, from the said Committee, that the House would resolve into a Committee of the whole House, on Thursday Morning next, to proceed in the further Consideration thereof.

Resolved, &c. That the House will resolve into a Committee of the whole House, on Thursday Morning next, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill for an additional Imposition on foreign Commodities.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees that were to sit this Afternoon, be adjourned.

Preventing Growth of Popery.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Matter concerning Popery, is committed, be revived; to sit on Thursday Morning next, Seven of the Clock.

And then the House adjourned till Thursday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
