Privilege-Information of a Member being a Papist.
Information was given to the House, that Sir Thomas Strickland, a Member of this House, had been convicted of being a Popish Recusant; and was thereby disabled to sit in this House: And that the Record was at the Door to evidence his Conviction.
Resolved, &c. That the Record be brought into the House by the proper Officer in whose Custody it is, on Monday Morning next.
Privilege-A Member detained in Prison.
Information was given to the House, by Letter from Sir Robert Holt, a Member of this House, that he was detained Prisoner in the Fleet, at the Suit of Mr. Edmund Prideaux; and thereby hindered from attending the Service of the House.
A Petition of Mr. Edmund Prideaux was also tendered; and read.
A Question being put, That the said Petition be read;
It was resolved in the Affirmative.
And the Petition was read; and the Matter debated, in part.
The Question being put, That the Debate of the Matter, touching the Detaining Sir Robert Holt in Prison, be adjourned till Monday Morning, Ten of the Clock;
